The Scene – If a group of rice pudding-addicted aliens ever set up a shop in Nolita, this is what it would look like. And the color scheme--bright orange, pink, yellow and stark white--along with neon lighting, tables suspended from the ceiling and a profusion of flat-screen TVs, makes it official: This is stimulation central. – – The Food – You'd better like rice pudding, because that's all they serve. There are 18 flavors, plus three seasonal flavors, to choose from, with cheeky names like "Stubborn Banana" and "Melon-choly." Some flavors, such as "Qualified Lemon"…
Awesome product, worst service ever!
by William Alvarez
I have been to Rice to Riches a thousand times (believe me, I've put a lot of pretty pennies in there during the past 3 years!), and there's no doubt this is my favorite spot for desserts in the city. Every time I can, I bring my family and friends with me to be delighted with the great flavors on rice pudding. HOWEVER, during my most recent visit on Sunday evening last week, I had the worst service I've ever received at any store in NY. I don't remember the name of the f@!##%ng girl who I asked for my order of caramel rice pudding, but the mother fukr yelled at me: "I'm already helping someone else", with an attitude and making a face like "oh, what a hassle to deal with you, idiot".
Promise I will NEVER come back to rice to riches for the rest of my life. There are many other people out there with good manners trying to get a job, get rid of this a** hole!
- Pros: Location (right across Lombardi's Pizza), tasty, freshly mad
- Cons: Terrible service, too expensive for such a small amount
Fantastic!
by JollyPro
The flavors are simply fantastic. Nothing else tastes quite like this and it's gluten-free for your non-gluten people. The store is cheerful and clean and very cool, and it's a perfect indulgence for yourself after a hard day's work or a movie night. Every out of town guest I have taken there has raved about it. Wish they would get rid of those unrecycle-able plastic containers. (And the staff uniforms are dorky and look like they are working for a fast food joint, but it's NOT!) Must try!!!
- Pros: unique, delicious, wonderful
- Cons: no organic selections, plastic non-recycled containers
Shame on them! Destroying the environment, the economy and a foreign country.

This place has awesome rice pudding! The downside - and why I can no longer go - is that they use plastic everything - super thick dishes and spoons, bottled water, and none of it is recycled or even recyclable. No conscientious person could eat there after seeing the amount of petroleum based products that are going to our NY landfills for the next million years. Shame on them! We asked an employee about recycling and she said confirmed that none of the products were recycled.
- Pros: Great rice pudding
- Cons: no recycling and everything is plastc
