TERRIFIC CUSTOMER SERVICE! CLEAN ROOMS! GREAT FOOD!. I'd highly recommend it! We stayed there on our last trip to NYC and found it close to Times Square and Central Park. No problem getting a taxi here or even getting to the subway. The restaurant next door has excellent food and you get plenty of it!!! Service at the Wellington was great and when coming in at night there was someone there to make sure you belonged in there and they kept out the ones who didn't. Would we stay there again if the opportunity arose? You bet! The location is close to many stores and taxi's can get get you to where you want to be in no time. Make the Wellington your place to stay on your next trip there!!!!!

A generic hotel with budget prices and a few convenient extras.. The Scene
With 515 rooms and 85 one-bedrooms suites, this hotel offers low rates and a prime location just steps from Carnegie Hall, Broadway and Central Park. It's a big property and has a nice selection of on-site amenities, such as two gift shops, a coffee shop, a tour desk and a hairdresser.

The Details
The rooms are clean and well-maintained, with ample closet space. Some have kitchenettes, and all are stocked with cable TV with pay-per-view, phones with voice mail and high-speed wireless Internet access. Furnishings and decor are well above standard, especially in the king rooms and suites. Given that suites can house up to four, the prices are excellent. The famed Greek restaurant, Molyvos, calls this hotel home.

Hotel has no bar, although there is an independently run Greek restaurant attached, beer was good, bartender friendly, didn't try the food which was pricy but looked good.. I stayed at this hotel in August 2006 with friends and found the rooms to be clean and with heating/AC that could easily be regulated. Elevators all seemed to be working fine and at normal speed for elevators anywhere!! It has a great location, being just minutes walk away from Times Square, although prices in this area obviously reflect that!

Very pleasantexperience. I stayed in this hotel and was very pleased with both the service and the room. As a matter of fact I was booked at another hotel and upon arriving there found an extreme amount of construction in the extremely small lobby. I went looking for another hotel and the Wellington tokk us right away. For the price it is a very nice place to stay and being a travel agent, I would reccommend it to my clients.

Neon Sign was right outside my window!. The standard double-bed room was extremely small, as well as the bathroom. My room was located directly next to one of the "Ls" of the actual Wellington sign on the hotel, and although the window provided a thick, plastic pull-down shade, some light still shone into the room (which was annoying). Although the room was small, I only stayed one evening, and it did the job.

Location is good, but..... The room was tiny with a only a standard double bed for two. There was a large amount of trash under the bed. It is impossible to cut the heat off and our room was 85 degrees at night. The upholstery and carpet and very worn and dirty. The elevators are intolerably slow.

A bottomless well. I delievered flowers to a guest at the Wellington. A day later, I found out that she never got them. Confused, I called to discover they 'misplaced' them. They said she requested a room change prior to checking-in so 'apologies for losing everything, but it really was her fault for changing the room', not the hotel's. Eventually they found and delievered my gifts. I explained the point was the flowers be in her room before she arrived, and the Manager responded, "The flowers got to her---it's all fixed." He was impatient, defensive, sarcastic, and insulting on the phone. Fixed maybe, but certainly at the cost of any sense of customer service and etiquette. When I asked for compensation, he said, "What, for pain and suffering? We aren't compensating for something that is subjective and sentimental." Well, this may be subjective, but I have never been more disappointed with a hotel.
