The Scene
Just steps from the beach, Michi's high ceilings, dim lighting and barren walls set the stage for romance, but the noise level is high since the crowded bar teems with singles hoping to get noticed. Luckily, premier service makes up for the meet-market madness.
The Food
The extensive menu spans the globe, from fresh Asian-influenced seafood to enchiladas, pastas and superbly prepared meats. Seasonal highlights include luxuriant squash soup infused with coconut milk and lemongrass, but a year-round favorite is the lobster enchilada swimming in pesto cream. Standout entrees include seafood paella bursting with enormous shellfish atop flavorful saffron rice and tomatoes, and meltingly perfect grilled lamb smothered in an herb glaze. For a sweet finish, try the silky creme brulee, or drink your dessert and end with the infamous Houdini martini, a concoction that changes with the whims of the bartender.

The worst food ever for that level! I chose it for my B'day in April, thought they had good food, Oh well!

Michi Restaurant Closed after 10 great years in Manhattan Beach. The concept will be re-opening in late 2007 early 2008 in Los Angeles.
