“not only is Don Pedro's food great, but the prices are VERY reasonable and the atmosphere borders on actually being a downtown establishment.”
“Forgiving that, I found three disappointments: 1) the look of annoyment I got from the waitress when I ordered my salad and a vegetable side dish, 2) the fact that my salad was comprised of no more than three pieces of iceberg lettuce artfully arranged an”
“Overall, though, a great experience - fun people, and great food and drinks; and not too pricey.”
“The food is amazing, and a bargain for the price.”
“Overall their dinner menu is varied and everything has good flavor.”
“Don pedro's on 96th and 2nd is by far the best place I have eaten at yet!”
“Neighborhood GEM - would go back weekly for tasty food, great value, and great atmosphere”
“But on top of the food we received a very friendly greeting upon arriving and our waiter could not have been more friendly and attentive.”
“the seafood's a bit more expensive, but still cheaper than the options you get at other restaurants.”
DISAPPOINTING. Will Never return to this extremely over priced restaurant. The corner where we were seated was hot -the air conditioner was barely working and when we asked that it be turned on it started leaking. The food was ok-no great shakes. The appetizers were extremely salty, the fish dry and the portions small. More importantly make sure you keep tabs on the cost of each dish! They seem to only recommend the most expensive. All in all it was a very bad experience and I will never recommend it to anyone!
DANCING WAITER. Best service ever, the manager was the only person waiting tables at the time, so while he served us food, he also danced his way to us, making the atmosphere alot more enjoyable. Music was also really good, it was a nice dining experience, lovely scenery, there were very few people in the restaurant when we got there. Its a good place to take out to your lady after doing something wrong ;) Its a bit pricey not really, I spent around 60 bucks on the meals and drinks plus tip so its a nice place, i loved and if you don't then your loss.
The Worst Experience EVER!. This place is the worst! They only care about your money and try to get you drunk so you spend more and more on their over priced specials. Watch your wallets and your women if you go to this place. The owner is only interested in one thing... and it's not his wife!
Great, great, great. I own a catering company and always out to try new foods. Don pedro's on 96th and 2nd is by far the best place I have eaten at yet!!! ( And lord knows I have eaten at a bunch of places) three thumbs up!!! Love it
Excellent service on top of great food.
I had some kind of a seafood stew that was served on top of a bed of fried plantain cube thingys. I'm not 100% sure what it was because it was a special and It was hard to hear what the waiter was saying due to the Wednesday Flamingo music being a bit loud. Anyways, whatever it was, it was great stuff. My wife had the arroz con pollo and loved it. And we finished off the night with the tasty sorbet assortment.
But on top of the food we received a very friendly greeting upon arriving and our waiter could not have been more friendly and attentive.
Don Pedro is well deserving of this positive review.
All you can ask for on the UES. Excellent service aThe service was amazing. Really. Our staff made great recommendations, knew a ton about wine and was happy to chat with us. That person was attentive without being obtrusive and made for a delightful experience. The food was good. and the food was outstanding.
Good Food -- Atrocious Service. The food was good, although it was very one note -- every single dish in our 7 course meal was sweet and sour and maybe a little spicy every now and then. The service was ok -- except for one waiter, who kept squeezing himself between our table and the tables next to us. His suit kept draping over our table; first it went into our bread basket, and then it covered our water glasses! He also rushed his customers -- giving them the next course before they were done with the prior course, so that they barely had room to fit all the plates. This atrocious waiter made our entire meal nervous, frazzled, and unpleasant. He was a blight on the restaurant.
Highly Recommend.... Me and the girlfriend had just gotten out of work and were both hungry when we passed by Don Pedros. It caught our attention and we decided to try it. The waiters were extremely kind and they seem to know that they are good in which when the waiter saw it was my first time there, he said "your in for a treat". You bet I was. And so was the GF. She had Mofongo, in which she enjoyed very much and I had the pollo a ajillo, OMG very delicious!....the TOSTONES WAS TO DIE 4!!!!...best tostones ive had, hands down!... and the bread and popcorn with a little spice was not bad @ all...Highly recommend.
A Neighborhood GEM - would go back weekly for tasty food, great value, and great atmosphere. My fiance and I love this place. The food is simply excellent (try the skirt steak and the paella and you will return again and again). The service is tremendously gracious and attentive. The portions are HUGE (which can be bad or good ...but I love taking a 'to go' box for the next day's lunch). I have eaten at SO many other Latin eateries in this city (downtown, uptown, east side, west side, etc) and I cannot recommend this place more highly...
