Designer Loft

Designer Loft is a nice, quaint boutique with a great variety of dresses. From the minute I walked in the store, the staff was helpful and accommodating, and shopping at Designer Loft was one of the best shopping experiences for bridal gowns that I had. They made me feel like a princess! As I tried on dress after dress the women helping me made me feel stunning and confident in the dresses and even allowed me to take pictures while shopping. I left the store buying the dress of my dreams at a practical price. In New York City, NY Designer Loft is a tremendous bridal boutique and i am so glad i bought my dress from there. With a cozy atmosphere and professional service Designer Loft is the way to go!

I am so glad that I chose Designer Loft to create my dream wedding gown. Staff was incredibly patient and helpful. They incorporated all my quirky details to make it truly my unique gown. My Rosa Clara ballgown was the perfect choice for my Southern themed wedding. And I loved the matching lace jacket that Natasha made for me. I just loved the attention and aura at Designer Loft. This shop will let you feel pampered but not pressured. Will definitely be bringing friends in the future.
DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!!!!!!!
by designer loft is terrible
If you want to feel like a bride when buying your wedding dress and feel secure and confident that you will get the dress you want to wear on your wedding day, DO NOT SHOP AT THIS TERRIBLE STORE! I have never written a review before, but I felt it was necessary in this case because your wedding day is supposed to be special and you should feel like the beautiful bride you are, glowing in the wedding dress you purchased. Unfortunately, due to my terrible experience at Designer Loft, that was not possible for me. I am not a shopper and knew exactly what type of dress I wanted (a simple slip dress made of silk with an open back and no frills or lace), so when I tried on my second dress at Designer Loft, I was happy that I found exactly what I was looking for so quickly and my search could end at the first store I shopped at. I asked for the exact dress I tried on – same color fabric, same style, etc. The dress was designed by a local designer who designs almost exclusively for Designer Loft, which I thought would be a boon since she would take my measurements and fit the dress exactly to my body. Unfortunately, I was sadly mistaken. They told me they’d be sending me a swatch of the fabric over the coming weeks. Fast forward five months (and two months before my wedding), and they were still sending me swatches that did not match the color of the fabric I had tried on and purchased. Understandably, I was nervous. I spoke numerous times to Liz, the owner of the store, who assured me that everything would be fine and they would have my dress in time. She refused to acknowledge that they could not find the fabric in the color I had paid for. When she finally admitted this in November, it was too late for me to go elsewhere to find another dress. They proceeded to sew me a dress in alternate fabric that was much more yellow than the fabric I had ordered. When they finally had the dress for me to try on, it puckered in the buttocks, so it looked like I had something sticking out of my butt. They told me that “fabric has memory”, and it wasn’t supposed to lay flat. Really? What is the dress remembering? I don’t think I have ever had a tail! After numerous fittings (half of which they either canceled or did not have my dress ready for me), they were unable to get rid of the puckering and tried to convince me that this was normal in a dress of this fabric. Because the dress was so plain and simple, the puckering was VERY obvious and looked ridiculous. I walked down the aisle in a dress that made me look like I had a tail, rather than in a dress that made me feel like the beautiful bride I should have felt like on my wedding day. When I showed Liz the pictures afterwards, complaining about how terrible the dress came out, she refused to refund me any portion of my money (I paid close to $3,000 for the dress), but she offered to make me the same dress in black (because I had intended to dye my wedding dress to wear it again, but it was unwearable as it was made). She finally sent me the dress… six months later… in cheap, disgusting fabric, and sewn so poorly that I would never wear it (although this time, miraculously, there was no puckering in the butt). She also offered to retouch the photographs of me from behind, so I could use the images without being constantly reminded of my awful experience with Designer Loft. My wedding day was February 5, 2011. Today is November 27, 2011. I am still waiting. I have finally accepted that I won’t be getting those retouched images, and, so, today I am posting this, so you do not go through the same pain I went through when buying my wedding dress. PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, AND DO NOT SET FOOT IN THIS STORE!

I had a great time shopping and finding my ideal wedding gown at Designer Loft. The store is hard to find but worth the effort! First, my consultant, Ellie was so sweet and patient. She really helped me find my dream dress and did not stress me out about my lack of time, yikes my wedding in 3 months! We ended up coming back to my original first choice an organza trumpet with layered custom design. I so love this shop because they respected my needs, my budget and didn't give me a hard sell sales pitch. Really friendly staff. Can't wait to start alterations! Now to find the shoes....
