As an escape from the college bars of Morningside Heights, The Underground Lounge has the feel of a local bar, but with the style and intimacy of a downtown lounge. With 8 ice cold beers on tab and a notible cocktail and wine menu, the Undergound has something to offer everyone.The Backroom hosts nightly live shows of comedy and music. The comedy shows on Friday and Saturday nights feature top comics from SNL, Comedy Central, HBO, etc. The musical performances include a variety of jazz, rock, and folk. With new supervising chef Anthony La Pinto the Underground has introduced a new upscale menu of delicious small plates that are perfect for sharing.

I come here for happy hour all the time. Great place to hang out. They also have live music and comedy shows at night. I bring all my friends from out of town here. check it out

When I first walked into The Underground, my first impression was that it was a total dump. It was dark. The upolstry is ripped and old. The longer I stayed here, however, the more it grew on me. There was a cool mix of pop and latin music. The drinks were absurdly cheap and the crowd was rather pleasant. There is free wifi and I dream of someday going back and getting drunk and getting online. I would def. go back here again.
