The clothes are nice, a bit overpriced for what they are, but there are some nice things. The salesperson (Orhan), walked in on me three times without knocking while I was in the changing room to check in with me. I finally told him sternly to stop doing that. It's a shame that one little incident like that can spoil your entire view of a brand. I liked the clothes and might have returned to buy some things, but the incident deflated my desire to return and leaves my stomach in a knot when I think about it. I'll never have positive thoughts about Gant again.

Gant Store in New York. I was on holiday in New York and I tried out one of the shirts for my size and then bought a few shirts. But one of them was fitted and does not fit me - but the staff did not point this out to me.

The label's massive flagship store is stocked with an impressive variety of styles suitable for polo matches and rock concerts.. In Short
Around since 1949, Gant has long embodied an all-American brand of casual prep, although European chic has crept into the designs since the label was bought by a Swedish company in 1999. The New York store houses three fully stocked floors, all connected by a white spiral staircase. The men's and women's collections display a classic, preppy style: white oxford shirts, crested wool cardigans and preppy chinos. Downstairs, the casual sportswear collection skews more urban with striped sweater dresses, Western-style button-downs and short leather jackets.

Hits: The store is huge, almost guaranteeing that anyone in need of some classic basics will find what they want.

Misses: It remains to be seen if Gant, which has slipped from America's fashion radar, can reclaim some luster with its fancy remodeled flagship store.
