I love their work!. They do amazing custom designs here and their stones are very high quality. They helped my husband design a beautiful and unusual engagement ring that fits me perfectly. They made the perfect matching wedding ring for me based on a picture that I drew and were very patient with me even though I kept asking for things! They worked on it until I was happy and gave us a great deal. I will go to them forever!
Nice pieces, slooow service. Went here for an engagement ring. They were very friendly and low-pressure and had a design that I really loved. However, I would be very on top of them on any deadlines they promise to have things to you by -- I think it's definitely a case of the squeaky wheel getting the oil and if you let the store's very laid-back vibe lull you into thinking everything will be taken care of, it may take months and months to get your jewels. I came away with a really lovely ring, but went elsewhere when it came time to shop for the wedding bands. (DVVS in Chelsea. They're also very chill; don't do as much custom work, but are much more on top of things!)
Excellent Experience. he experience was excellent. I went in with a budget for an engagement ring, and they were able to meet it with excellent and "traditional" materials. I needed an alternative to platinum, and they suggested palladium. Through their information and my own research, I found that palladium is one of 5 metals in the platinum family. It shares all of the same properties as platinum, except it is a bit lighter. Otherwise, it is just as strong and resistant, and it looks the same... same sheen etc. Also, i wanted a small diamond for taste and budget reasons. They were able to obtain 3 diamonds for me to choose from in a matter of 2 days. They were all of excellent quality... gorgeous. They simply don't put sub-par quality stones in their jewelry... they design everything, and they're not interested in representing their work with bad stones. So, basically, I purchased a beautiful palladium band, English Arts and Crafts style (or maybe Art Nouveau-ish) designed by them and adjusted for my small .45 carat diamond. The design is different but totally tasteful and timeless, NOT trendy. The diamond is amazing... a small one, but unbelievably reflective, sharp, and clear. They gave me an excellent, unique, artistic, and beyond-quality ring at my budget, and within 9 days from the moment I stepped through the door. Not to mention, they're cool folks that enjoy what they do... it's a comfortable experience!
Nice people, nice custom made jewelry, but don't take antiques there!. The people at Little King are very nice, and their custom made jewelry is their specialty. However, I would advise you to NOT take antiques there for sizing, repair, etc. Antique jewelry is not their expertise. They are well-meaning, but they can mislead you into thinking they know more about antique pieces than they actually do. A ring they confidently told me was cast in the 1940s or later was later appraised to be handmade from the turn of the century. Go to them for what they're good at!
Forget 47th Street!. If you're looking for a special piece of jewelry (bridal or otherwise) and want a low-pressure place with people that actually care about what you want, regardless of how small your budget is, go to Little King. Michael and Jennifer are wonderful. I went in a week before proposing to my girlfriend, explaining that I had her grandmother's diamond, which was set in a necklace, wanted to use that to propose and then bring my girlfriend back so she would have a say in the ring she would wear for the rest of her life (imagine that). Rather than push me to hurry up and get a ring because "that's what women want", she thought it was a great idea and made me feel totally relaxed about the process. We came back together the following week (she said 'yes' obviously) and looked through some options. Eventually, we decided that we were probably going to want to design our own setting, but we didn't have time to do that before going away for the holidays - and to see both of our families. Jennifer suggested taking the necklace setting and placing it as-is on a silver band as a temporary fix so that she'd have something on her finger. Sounded good. We got it back in two days and it was AMAZING. So much so that my fiance is considering keeping her ring like this and we would just switch the band for a white gold one. Knowing that we might actually like the "temporary" setting, they could have created something fine but not great in order to get us to go for the pricier option. Instead, they did fantastic work and they got it back to us so fast. No matter what we do with the engagement ring, we will definitely go back to talk to them about wedding bands. We can't recommend them highly enough.
Best Custom Jewelry in NYC!.
Little King Ltd. is absolutely amazing.
Michael, Jennifer, and Angela immediately made us feel at home, and listened intently to what we wanted for our wedding bands. I'd brought along some concept sketches, and all three immediately went to work on how to best bring the ideas into reality.
Michael quickly came up with some great ideas, and Jennifer helped us choose the right stone, seamlessly blending her practical advice with Michael's creative genius.
Throughout the process of bringing these rings into solid form, Jennifer, Michael, and Angela gave us options within our budget, while also explaining what could be done for a little more money. This was done without pushing, pitching, or up-selling: We were specific about what we wanted and they, in turn, gave us several ways in which it could be realized.
They also gave us accurate time estimates and delivered each stage of fabrication as promised.
In the end, two exquisite rings were created; true to what I'd envisioned but all the more magnificent because of the thought, creativity, and artistic skill that had gone into making them. Michael and his staff took my concept and ran with it, improving upon it while staying true to the specifics. Were I a trained goldsmith, I could not have made the rings any more perfect, beautiful or truer to what I'd seen in my mind.
The rings literally took my breath away, and elicited a similar reaction from my girlfr... wife when I presented them to her.
They fit us perfectly - both our fingers and our personalities.
A far cry from the dark, sleazy feeling we got just walking down 47th street, Michael, Jennifer, and Angela have created a space that feels warm and welcoming. Their personalities are open, fun, and sincere. These are honest businesspeople and artists - people who obviously care about what they are doing and love doing it.
We recommend them highly, and look forward to visiting, and doing business with them again in the future!
Gorgeous custom jewelry and amazing service.
My boyfriend and I had been discussing rings for a few weeks when I stumbled upon Little King on this site. The reviews were so great and their website is so amazing that I knew I had to at least visit their shop. I had looked online exhaustively for rings, we went to the diamond district, Zales, you name it. Everything I tried on was lovely, but completely impersonal and overpriced. Nothing felt representative of us as a couple.
We went to Little King on a rainy Saturday. It's a tiny shop in the East Village and it was a little tough to find. We met with Jennifer and she unlocked the cases and advised me to try on whatever looked interesting. So I did. Throughout the process I was sure I wanted white gold, until I saw their stunning rose gold rings. My boyfriend then worked with her (quite secretively) until they came up with the right design, which he had cast in rose gold with a rose-cut diamond.
The ring is absolutely beautiful and there is nothing about it I would change. He reported great service from the people at Little King, with no delays. I have a gorgeous custom-made ring that was reasonably priced.
Thank you to Jennifer and Michael. I wish you tons of success in the future; you deserve it.
When you want something unique.
Michael and Jennifer at Little King are simply the best. Going to Little King is more like visiting friends than going to a business. We got our wedding rings and other items there, and each time we go they always remember us and take great care of us.
On top of this, the style of their work is completely unique, one-of-a-kind, and fantastic. They will work with you to help you get just the right piece, and make sure you can do what you want within your budget.
If you are looking for something special, totally unique, and hand-crafted, Little King is the place.
perfect job.
These guys are all great. Not only is friendly service is a given, but the quality and timeliness of their work is amazing. I recently went to them with a few vague ideas for an engagement ring for my fiancee and they helped me tremendously even suggesting customizing a ring meant for a differently cut diamond. Because my fiancee lives in Canada and my next trip was coming up, I had a very hard deadline for when the ring needed to be done and they easily beat the date. Most importantly, my fiancee loved the ring and is so happy! We're definitely going here to get our wedding bands...and I imagine much more jewelry in the future.
If you are looking for a custom piece or something beautiful and original you owe it to yourselves to check out Little King.
