“Our favorite place to stop for a quick "treat.”
sweet place in stone street. you feel like in PARIS, FRANCE..quality and classic pastries.
Yuck!.
I sat next to the kitchen area eating my french toast and notice baby insects crawling on the kichen floor.
I informed the clerk but she had the busboy took care of it.
I could only imagine whats gos on at night. The Board of Health should check this place out
Poor service.
The quality is good but a very very rude and disrespectful custmer service even from the chef Called
Eric Bedoucha was extremly Cold ...seriously Good products and bad service means keep it to your self you're not the only bakery out there surout ici a New york
Fantastic Pastries. Once I discovered this shop, I visited every day during my stay. The pastry is the main draw - the strawberry-rhubarb tartlette is amazing and I had one almost daily. The pistachio macarons are also fabulous. Also the Frasier, Berries Tartlette and Opera are very good. The hot chocolate is just ok, but still good if you have it with a pastry plus it comes with a tiny cake. There is always a vegetarian option for both soup and sandwich. The corn chowder is a bit plain, but still nice on a cold day. The vegetarian panini I had was surprisingly good. Service can be curt, especially when they are busy they can be very impatient with you - plus you have to keep an eye out to ensure that your pastry is delivered... for some reason they don't bring it out at the same time even though they will take your table number away before bringing the pastry dessert. Go try the strawberry-rhubarb tartlette and get a macaron to-go for later.
SHARP, Foreign object in my pastry!!!.
I ordered a pastry from here...the small individual ones. I too it back to my office and bit down. To my and my co-workers shock, I s_xp-it out a sharp hard foreign object!!! I immediately took it back and was treated like c_r _p.
They still have not fully addressed this and I am beyond dissappointed. BEWARE WHAT YOU MAY FIND NEXT time you go here. I would not EVER recommend this place. Do yourself a favor and go a few more steps to get to BOULEY Bakery inTribeca or Payards.
With what they charge you for a pastry and the poor quality of service, Id skip them and go someplace else. They are obviously so focused on the bottom line that the quality control took a major nosedive. Id definitely not bring a child. Adults...eat at your own risk!
GREAT coffee and pastries. Love the coffee and pastries (especially their namesake ones, the financiers). Would be a 5 star rating if their service got a bit more consistent (sometimes orders get mixed up, sometimes the staffers are a wee bit grumpy), but their actual goods are terrific.
Carrot Cake Heaven. I have ordered many cakes for company events, but the carrot cake is unbelievable. Sacher Torte is very good as well, but for a birthday cake, it might be too rich. The atmosphere is beautiful, something out of Main Street. Could get quite crowded during lunch on the weekdays.
Best Birthday Cake Ever. This year, my co-workers surprised me with a birthday cake from Financier. They ordered me the Marjolaine cake, which was absolutely unbelievable. I couldn't even identify all the flavors, but it had chocolate ganache, some kind of hazlenut buttercream, and a toasted almond topping. It was flaky and light, and not at all filling, like some heavy cakes can be. Everyone in the office adored it and can't wait for the next special event to try another one of their cakes. Highly highly recommended!
They need to franchise!. Best French place downtown. I agree with the previous reviewer--they need something midtown and even uptown. Great kid-friendly place, with wonderful selections. Our favorite place to stop for a quick "treat.." Surprisingly affordable.
new love for sweets. This place defenitely made me want to write a great review. I brought my kids to have a little treat and they loved it and so did I, even though I am not a big fan of sweets. The desserts were amazing and inexpensive averaging to about $4 each person. The staff was so friendly, which made the experience even better. My family and I defenitely want to go back to try out the lunch menu, and I would highly recommend that anyone should give this place a try, its great.
