Go Somewhere... Anywhere but here - Awful & Rude
by BabyLady at Citysearch
Olga is rude and spoke Spanish to the other stylist while she did my hair.
I called in advance and inquired how much highlights would be. I was quoted $185. So I show up, she doesnt ask me which color I want, she just starts. Does the color it comes out OK only. Very dull and on top of it she gave me a "mom" blow dry. Not a hip Victoria Beckham - Halle Berry type mom. NO! A "mom jeans" wearing soccer mom blow dry. Terrible.
So after this disaster, I go to pay. She and the other plastic faced stylist chatter and they tell me $226. Huh? How? Taxes they say. Even if the tax rate in NYC was 10%, (which it isnt), the total cost would have only been $204. Also, she must use cheap products because my hair is falling out. Not massively, but more so than usual. Olga is a rude, crappy, rip off artist who cant even style hair or color it sufficiently enough to cover a few gray hairs.
Save your money and time and go somewhere else.

I went to the place after reading some of the reviews. Unfortunately, I should have read all the reviews.
The haircut that I got from Olga was extremely unsatisfactory. My front bangs were cut extremely short (4 mos ago). To this day I am wearing a hair pin to hide the issue. I informed her that I didn't want a razor cut as my hair is not that coarse.. She didn't take good notes and still went with the razor cut. My hair now lacks shine, it's very dry and extremely frizzy. Furthermore, to hide her mistake, she used tons of hair products, some brown material (that thing smelled nasty for days, it took about 8 washes to get rid of it completely) to cover the bald spots(hello, i don't have any) etc...
I also got a conditioning treatment prior the haircut. It is a non permanent color treatment that will make your hair smell for days.It took her twenty minutes to process the payment transaction A bit unorganized and aloof I must say. Also, I felt uncomfortable when Olga and her assistant were conversing in their native language. It is very rude and I am not sure who you are talking about. Please save your 100's of dollars and go somewhere else.
thanks

I've ebeen going to Olga for six months and the change she has made in the look and condition of my hair is amazing. When I went to her I had overbleached, dull long hair. After my first visit in which she did highlights, lowlights, touch up, conditioning and cut all in only an hour and a half, and gave my hair more dimension, movement and lustre than it had had in years, I was hooked. This week I did something I never would have done with another stylist and never have done in decades of getting my hair styled -- I told her to cut my hair the way she thinks it should be. After years of clining to my long hair like a security blanket I now have the most adorable Edie Sedgewick style short cut and I absolutely love it. My friends and co-workers are all saying the same thing -- "you're hair looks A-MAZING!" and she took ten years off my looks. Even though I am changing jobs in a few weeks and will be working in Philadelphia I will be taking the train every 6 weeks to come back to Olga!
- Pros: Great colorist and stylist; a healer for worn out hair
- Cons: That she's not in Philadelphia where my new job is
Amazing Hair Cut and Color
by Raisa at Citysearch
I've been livivng in the city for over 10 years, have gone to more the 30 different hair dressers, trying to find someone who would listen to me and do the right thing. A great hair cut and color can do so much for a woman, change her spirit, confidence, just everything. Olga was able to do that with me. When I first came to her I had an uneven hair cut, my color was very dark, didnt fit me sort of speak. She was able to transform me. Not only is she an artist when it come to a hair cut, specifically for curly hair (which is what I have) but she is also a perfectionist.
Recently I went from a very dark brunette to a platinum blond. Olga and I spent 2 days getting the color just perfect. Perfect is the key, no flaws. Just an amazing experience. She is very knowledgeble, professional, brilliant and also very kind. I would recomend that every woman goes to her. She is the ultimate find!
- Pros: Best Hair Cut and Color
I found my stylist

I found Olga's Salon when searching for a stylist near my new place. I've now been there 4 times now and Olga has always done a perfect job. She knows the right hair color to look your best and has given me wonderful hair cuts each time. It's also a quieter salon which I like though it has a great view overlooking the hustle and hustle of the city. Olga herself is very professional and knowledgeable. I enjoy all my visits with her and would recommend her to anyone.
- Pros: pleasant environment, professional service, cost, great look
- Cons: none
