I used to go to a different Baluchis location, but since I was an NYU student, I tried this one. I sat down and ordered Chana Masala and the waiter asked me if I wanted rice with it. I thought he was asking me to choose between rice and naan, assuming one or the other came with the chana. He told me that rice came separately. I'm expected to pay for rice comes separately? Come on guys. You're already seriously pushing it by charging $13 for chana masala. If I go to an Italian restaurant do I pay for noodles and sauce separately? I won't be back. There are better Indian restaurants all over the city. P.S. - To the poster below who was told that this place is not part of the Baluchis chain, I think you are being lied to. If they're not part of the Baluchis chain, why do they have the exact same name, decor, silverware, menu and sign as all other Baluchis restaurants?

Pros: Nice decor

Cons: bad service, overpriced food

I went with a group of friends on a Friday night and the place was EMPTY! I guess that tells you something. But we decided to go in anyways, and were treated politely by the attentive staff. The decor is nice and the place was small but clean and well-lit. There is complimentary bread and sauces. We all ordered different things of which no one was really impressed. With entrees at about $10-12 its not terribly expensive, but I still didn't feel it was entirely worth it. The nan was decent at $3. Overall I didn't hate my experience there, but it isn't a place I would ever go back to or recommend.

Pros: decor, polite staff

Cons: mediocre food
