Favorite Hangout Spot. This place has a great atmosphere! The staff is very friendly and really get to know their regulars which I truly appreciate. They also always have the best cookies! There is a chocolate chunk vegan cookie that EVERYONE must try! Coffee is good and they have all organic teas.

This a great place to meet a friend for coffee and dessert or if you're in the mood for a tasty salad during lunch. The salads are huge and I usually end up taking some of it home for dinner as well.

Want to like it but price and bad attitude aren't worth a visit. I really want to like Cafe Angelique. With so few lunch choices in this area, and Starbucks and their dirt-tasting coffee being the only brew around, I'd really love an alternative. It seems whether I visit Angelique during the busy morning rush, or a quiet mid-afternoon, the staff is not friendly, and rush you out. Asking about baked goods seems to really annoy them, and when you charge $5 for a small coffee and cookie, it better be good. I've worked in Manhattan long enough to know that you should either be able to get a snack for less, or for the price it better be good! I'd rather pay that much at City Bakery for an awesome cookie if it weren't so far away!

PS: When you buy a cupcake don't let them bag it. The woman behind the counter tossed mine upside down into a bag so all the frosting came off. Thanks so much!

Friendly, great atmosphere, good coffee too. SOMEHOW, despite being right here in the village, this long time coffee house avoids TOURISTA disease! They are friendly, and non-pushy, and the coffee is very very good - and you can sit at the BACK and watch the tourists - they're open late, and they make up for the sadness of the Rafaella closing.

Don't go! The service is terrible, the attitude is bad, and the food is mediocre!. The atmosphere is cute, but the service is terrible. I went last night with a friend - we're both vegetarian - for a quick bite to eat. I ordered the deluxe omelette without the ham. (They have a vegan sandwich on the menu, so I assumed they were vegetarian-friendly.) After a very long wait (there were only 3 or 4 other customers there), my omelette came out with huge chunks of ham in it. When I pointed this out to the waitress, she tried to convince me that they were pieces of tomato. I finally got her to admit that it was in fact ham and asked her to have a new omelette made for me, without ham. But she warned me it would take a while, and everything in her tone indicated that I should just be happy with what I got. The second omelette was brought out. I took a bite and then cut off a second piece and discovered there was still ham in the damn thing. I called the waitress over again and told her to send it back and not bother with bringing me anything else. She gave me this really annoyed, What's your poblem? kind of look and didn't bother to apologize or rectify the situation in any way whatsoever. She couldn't have cared less. The quiche my friend ordered was so-so - I could've made a better one myself at home. So I don't think putting up with the bad attitude and getting bad service is even worth it for the food. My friend and I had been planning to order one of the nice looking desserts for each of us but were so appalled by the waitress and the people preparing the food that we just wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. And there was an elderly couple sitting next to us that the waitress was being equally unpleasant to, so I don't think it was anything personal. Skip Cafe' Angelique - there are plenty of other places in the area, so just walk across the street and you'll be much better off.

Nothing Special. We just stopped in to get coffee on a Tuesday when the place was mostly empty. Water wasn't in glasses but plastic cups and the iced coffee was fair at best. The service was flakey as it seems to be run by 18 year old girls that just complain about boys they are dating while forgetting they've got to work.

If the waitress is mad at him, she's mad at you.

Not great. I went to the Café Angelique for the first time a few days ago. It was a cold and windy Sunday and my friend and I were in dire need of a warm and comforting drink. The ridiculously long wait was not what we needed and, although our caffé lattes were on the decent side, it really wasn't worth it. I also found the spot to be a tad too touristy for my taste and finally, the state of the restroom in this place is unforgivable.

Avoiding this place. I had to wait a very long time when came here for Saturday lunch with a friend. Food was not good... Sandwich had mostly bread and was made probably two days ago. Is it done off premises? Girl waiter is not paying attention. For all my troubles I had to pay a very long bill.... I am avoiding this place.

Always great. So nice to find a classy, unpretentious spot for dinner. Love the salads, love the coffee, REALLY love the desserts. I've tried several spots in the Village area, and I keep coming back here. Waitstaff is always friendly. It's small, and it does get crowded, but it's nice to go by yourself or with a friend/date.
