Thank you and Goodbye to all my clients!. Thank you to all my wonderful loyal clients. After 11 years at Salon de Shyou, I have left the salon as of March 3, 2012. The owner will be keeping the salon name as is, however please note I am no longer associated.

SIMPLY THE BEST. SHYOU is the best around. She takes care of my skin as if it is her own. My entire family has started to go to her as they have seen how amazing my skin is. ALways glowing and shinning. Her products that she sells are the best. Yes they are a little $$$$ but they do work and if you follow her instructions you will see results. I go to her once a month and I have to say I am so pleased from all of the treatments she has done on me. I just recently tried the stem cell facial and it is absolutely the best.

Give her a try you will not be disappointed. Just remember that you need to maintain your visits and use the products. Simply the best!

What happened to this place???. I think all the positive reviews on here are FAKE!!

They were all written around the same time and for a place that has been open for almost 10 years, it's obvious the reviews were written by people Shyou knows.

I had gone to Salon De Shyou about 1-2 years ago a few times and I was pretty pleased with the services. Shyou's facials left my skin glowing and the massages were relaxing. Everyone who worked there was pleasant and helpful.

But things sure have changed. I went in and got man-handled by the rough new massage assistant. When I told her to please be more gentle she just grunted and kept doing what she was doing.

Shyou was running late for the appointment (and this was after her RUDE receptionist told me to make sure I'm on time). I came in and was not offered a seat or anything to drink. A word was not said to me and I just waited.

Shyou came out and didn't remember my name, even though I had been there over a dozen times. She didn't apologize for being late and instead pulled out at least $500 worth in products and asked me if I would like to buy them. This was all before my treatment.

After I went in, I was extremely uncomfortable with the massage therapist. It was obvious she didn't understand a single word of English.

The facial itself was okay but I feel like Shyou was slacking and didn't put in the time and effort she used to now that I had purchased a package.

Like I said, I remember being very happy with the overall experience at the spa when I used to go in. Now it seems like she changed employees and she especially changed her attitude to the clients

I cant believe it! After all of these great reviews!. I came on to CitySearch a to find a good spa near where I work on in Soho .I found Salon De Shyou (i waited for a week for my appointment ! ) full of reviews full of FIVE stars. So I went to try it, and little did I know that people who reviewed were, in my opinion, probably a bunch of pathological liars. The receptionist was rude to me, and the massage HURTS. I guess they don't know how to do a real facial ,i totally broke out after. Didn't mean to be rude, but I think reviews should be telling the truth by the general public. This place is the worst yet.

Best aesthetician. I have been with Shyou for more than 10 years. She is so much more than just a professional, she remembers your face/skin condition as if its her own. I now drive in every 2 weeks from Long Island to see her. My treatments are fabulously effective as people generally think I am 10-15 years younger than my age. Ask Shyou about the "lift" treatment, that is absolutely the BEST I can recommend to everyone!

Thank you to everyone who has posted their opinion on City search. I am honored to have my name on the door of the salon (Salon de Shyou), even though I have no financial authority. My childhood aspirations of being a doctor have lead me down the road to becoming an aesthetician. I can find no better way to make people happy than to help them look beautiful, not only with cosmetics, but by promoting genuinely healthy skin. After 22 years of experience, I still challenge myself to further develop the knowledge and skill it requires to care for my clients. I sincerely respect and appreciate all of my patrons and the magazines who have been supportive all these years, and I will take heed of the complaints because they will help me become not only a better aesthetician, but a better person. Once again, thank you all for your thoughtful posts. I wish we all live well, laugh often and love much.

Fabulous Facialist & Skin Care Specialist. Salon de Shyou in Soho is the ONLY place in New York where you will get top quality skin care from someone who cares about your skin as much - if not more - than you do. The salon's owner and only aesthetician, Shyou, is a very talented and knowledgable skin care expert with exceptionally high standards. Shyou has a genuine interest in everything that goes on in skin care and thoroughly researches products and procedures before recommending or using them. She is generous with samples when she feels something is right for you, but never pushes products. I currently drive from Westchester to Soho to experience Shyou's incredible facials and other services like the eyelash perm. She is THAT GOOD.

It's hard to believe I first met Shyou at The Galleria in the 1980's. Whenever she moved to a new salon, or whenever I moved - from Queens to Manhattan to New Jersey to Westchester - I would briefly consider finding someone closer to where I lived. However, I have never found anyone in this city or any others, in spas, resorts or on cruise ships, who compares to the talented Shyou. Salon de Shyou is not inexpensive, but what reputable skin care salon IS in this city - especially in Soho? If it's true that you get what you pay for, then Shyou's prices are quite reasonable. She knows my skin and has adjusted my treatments over the years to accomodate changes caused by aging, hormones, stress, etc. She has a great touch - and I trust her judgement completely.

I have watched Shyou develop into a successful business owner as she continued to hone her skills in skin care. She has never lost sight of her clients as unique individuals with different needs and she takes pride in helping them to have the best skin possible. I would highly recommed her to any man or woman who wants to put his or her best face forward, as I do. By the way, people usually think I am 5 or more years younger than I am. I attribute that happy misperception directly to Shyou!

Wedding Saver!. As I was planning the last touches of my wedding, my skin started to breakout. I thought I was going to have the worst wedding. But as I was going through some magazines I read about the facials at salon de shyou. So I decided to try it and it was the best decision ever. By the time my wedding came my skin was picture perfect. Thanks to Shyou, I looked beautiful.

Shyou is the best. Period.. I have been going to Shyou's for over ten years. Even though my financial situation at this point isn't the best I've been in many years, I keep going to see Shyou. I honestly think that she is the best aesthetician out there for us.
