Great menu, reasonable prices. Great for someone looking for something different from the usual chinese food in Chinatown. Watch out- lots of the dishes are pretty spicy. Recommend getting roti canai or satay for appetizer, char kway teow or laksa as entrees. and chendol or shaved ice for desert! Staff is very friendly as well. We asked some general questions about Chinatown and they were nice.

In Chinatown it is often expected to get gruff service at a venue lacking decor, but Singapore Cafe is neither of these. The staff is attentive and super friendly. The food is delicious and worth every penny. Try their curry beef and Chinese spinach (hollow vegetables) for a fantastic treat. Their desserts are awesome as well from their rice pudding to ABC ice in a bowl.

I was walking by Singapore Cafe on my way to a Chinese restuarant nearby and I was waved in by a smiling lady in her 50s standing outside. That seems to be her job, probably one of the owners. I decided to go in and sat down. The place was clean, dark tiled floor. Looking around, I noticed that of all the people in the place not one was Asian -- this is typically not a good sign if you are in Chinatown. As I continued to look around, the portions looked small and I thought I should probably leave but decided that would be rude. I wish I had left. The prices were nothing special and the 1/2 chicken ordered came almost entirely cold (gross skin still on it and all) but in a warm soy sauce of sorts. It was nothing short of gross. I picked at it, paid my bill and decided to go to the original place on my list. The bathroom wasn't too bad though for chinatown standards but I know a few others that rank far higher in terms of everything. The service wasn't rude at all, but I didn't like the dropping the bill on the table like it was being thrown at me. Who wants Singapore variety food when you can have really good mainland China varieties nearby. Never go somewhere where you are waved in and under pressure to go inside. What is this a parking garage? What kind of descent restaurant does that? This one.
