Awful service, better food/services/prices elsewhere in GCT!. Okay there hasn’t been a new review here in almost 2 years, it’s time to get Citysearch as updated as Menupages, Yelp, etc. This place has appetizing-looking food & the 45th Street locale is great but WOW is the service awful at the GCT location. I ordered a prepared salad one recent evening, got the wrong one & got a bad attitude from the counter guy when I tried to exchange it for the correct one, as if I made the mistake, not him… he finally served me the display salad because he couldn’t find the salad I ordered in the fridge! Rather than offering me something else or asking me if I even wanted it! This isn’t a shirt from a display mannequin, this is food that potentially might’ve been there all day & gone bad. I was so stunned & starved so I took it… took a few bites & just couldn’t go on…who knows if it was still fresh plus the Caesar dressing was super excessive w/ the anchovies. I threw the salad away because I didn’t want to deal w/ the counter guy again. To their credit the other people behind the counter seemed friendly…they were in disbelief too when he served me that display salad, but no one intervened. I HIGHLY recommend walking over a few eateries in the dining concourse & getting something from Central Market Grill instead – they serve up similar food, make it FRESH to order (w/ some prepared options too) & are really courteous to boot. Or, go to another Dishes location! Check out the reviews of the GCT Dishes on other sites, I am not alone in having received shoddy service. I sent an email to them complaining but uh, no response.

Best Food in Grand Central Food Court. I've commuted out of GC Terminal for over 2 1/2 years. Dishes' Cafe, downstairs, is hands down the best breakfast option. They have the healthiest and most variety. Their grilled egg/spinach/gouda on an english muffin is my personal favorite! Great smoothies too, and made with fresh fruit! I go so often, the workers all know me now and always give good service. Only complaints about the place is that over that past few years, the prices just keep going up and are actually pretty ridiculous, even for Grand Central. The other complaint I have is I find their coffee intolerable. For food selection and quality, you won't find better downstairs at GC. As for the Dishes in the market upstairs, it is so ridiculously priced that I stopped going there.

grand central oasis. amaizing grilled sandwiches, best soups and smoothies, home made baked goods. my office is there almost everyday.
