Best Tanning Salon by far....been to all of them!. this place is awesome, been to many tanning salons in my day i have to say this place is by far my fave. the equipment is great and the prices were awesome, make sure you ask for the 2 free tans deal, i think you can scan it on their website.... best tanning salon in nyc by far! love you guys

My First Airbrush Spray Tan....Awesome!. I was shaky about getting spray tanned for the first time, but the girls that work at future tan were very comforting and gave good advice.... im so happy with the way the tan came out...will be back next week thank you!!!

Excellent!!! My lunchtime getaway.... Tan In The Shade lives up to all their reviews. I went for the first time today based the great reviews and I was not disappointed. My citysearch coupon allowed me two free additional sessions -no strings attached. Nicole (at the front desk) was extremely busy- but was able multi-task, answered all my questions and recommended a wonderful lotion. She escorted me to the perfect stand-up based on my skin complexion/tone and it was just perfect! I enjoyed my 8 minutes and will visit again.

LOVE LOVE. AMAZING love it. Love the results. AWESOME staff. Other places have such bitchy people working all the time. These girls are helpful and all smiles. Best mystic results I've ever had. And when the machine wasn't working properly they were more than happy to comp me some free tans. Great customer service!

immaculate, great service, and an even better tan!. the first time i tanned here, I used the coupon off Citysearch. I got 2 FREE SESSIONS on the best HIGH PRESSURE bed I've ever used. The machines are great, very helpful girls eager to answer my questions, and AFFORDABLE! Not like the factory i used down on 6th. I just got a 4 month membership for $379 and I can use ANY MACHINE--EVEN THE MYSTIC--for the next 120 days! A steal!!

Surprised Me.. I have always tanned at a high end tanning salon on the upper west side and assumed this place was not that nice but I needed a quick Tan before I went away and they are a block from my office. I took the buy 1 get 1 free flyer from the guy downstairs and headed up. The place was immaculate and had a number of different beds. I pick one of the cheaper beds and headed in. The next day I discovered I was burnt in spots. I went back and they helped me out advising that I chose the wrong bed and let me use a different bed and lotion even though my package did not cover that. Most places would have pointed out I picked the bed and pushed me into a more expensive package.

I really like this spot. I stumbled upon tan in the shade a few weeks ago when the cold in NYC had just gotten to be too much. I was a little aprehensive after having been to several other tanning salons in various parts of the city. This place and the Their beds are simply great. I have fair skin and not only did the girls listen to me and my concerns but they honestly got me some of the best color I have ever recieved. I wasn't planning on keeping up with my tanning but the color I have recieved has been so exceptional that I will continue to tan here.

mystic worked perfect. i can't afford airbrushing anymore and I'm really white, so I went to try their Mystic machine. it came out perfect, no streaks, no weird looking hands, nothing. and you know, i was bloated that day anyway, who wants to get undressed in front of someone when you feel all blah? It was fine, and much cheaper than the place near my apartment in HK.

I got a great tan in 10 days. I'm leaving today with an unbelievable tan. Who'dathunkit? I got a sale that you have to use in 10 days...it was perfect... I'M OUTTA HERE!! EAT YOUR FREEZING HEARTS OUT! anyway, i really never thought I'd be this dark in 10 days...Bravo! Ciao!

Just a heads up about the Citisearch coupon: it says two free tans with the purchase of one, but you MUST buy the maximum number of points for each bed, and only the face tanner and the cheapest stand-up is one point...so the minimum to purchase is really TWO points, unless you want the cheapest product. However, they do give you two points for every one you buy with the coupon...so intro price: 3 good tans costs $34 OR 3 okay tans are $18. Other prices are kind of high.
Other than that, it's your usual tanning place: very SALES-Y staff push for every penny they can get. They recommended a different bed as "the best" for every single person that came in...which means, "the best" is the bed that's available, and they push hard for you to buy lotion (even though I told them I had my own with me). The decor is WAY tacky and people are hurried in and out.
I did get an ok tan and the place was fairly clean. The prices were on the high side but nothing out of the ordinary for Midtown.
