Perfect Tan for my Wedding!!. I got married in January. One of my coworkers recommended Tan in the Shade to me as THE place to go to get the perfect tan. SHE WAS RIGHT! The girl who helped me, REALLY helped me. From the perfect tanning schedule, to a great lotion, to which machines to use when, when to "cocktail", everything. Poor girl, she must have thought I was the biggest idiot, I 'm sure I had a stunned "duh" look on my face. I've tanned in other places before, but, I've never seen machines like this. They had a great sale that really helped me save money, but, you'd never know my tan was inexpensive...It was PERFECT! And I have the best wedding pictures in the world to prove it! Thanks so much for your patience and guidance. And, I love the lab coat...You're like a Mad "tanning" Scientist. Cute!

My fave tanning bed in the city. Tan in the Shade is by far the best tanning salon in the city. This one is top notch and the beds give me the longest lasting tan. The beds here are super high-tech and have all the right bronzing rays, so i never burn, but rather get a beautiful color that actually lastss and doesnt fade right away. They have tons of lotions to choose from, but I never buy a bottle b/c i like to try a different sample each time i tan. I highly recommend tTan in the Shade. The place is clean, beautiful, and even smells good., I always feel a little bit of a beach feel when im there!

AWESOME tanning in midtown--best in the city. I have been tanning for years--not one of those people who tan way too much--but i try to tan about once a month just to keep a nice color. Well, I tried a couple places when i moved to nyc about a yr ago, but thankfully fpound Tan in the Shade about 6 months ago. I literally went twice in 2 weeks and got the greatest color. I have only been about once a month since (maybe twice if i have a big event coming up) and the beds at Tan in the Shade give me the most beautiful tan that actually lasts for more than a few days. I just went tanning tonight and am once again so happy with the results, hence my writing this review. I cant remember the name of the bed I go in, as they always know which bed to put me in so i never have to think about it, but I am pretty sure it is a 3point bed. Their prices are competitive with any other place in nyc, but their beds are better and the place is the nicest in the city. Highly recommended by me:)

Awesome staff and great results. I used Tan In The Shade A LOT last year and am about to start going back to top up for Summer. The staff are fantastic, friendly and knowledgeable and I started getting results from the tanning much faster than I have from the beds I've used at places like Hollywood Tans. I definitely reccommend Tan In The Shade for it's customer service and value for money ;-)

Excellent Service! Friendly, Sweet Professional Staff!!. I have been tanning here for a while now and I have nothing but the ultimate best things to say about this salon. The location is convenient and the hours are perfect for anyone's schedule, but what makes me come back everytime is the staff. They are so friendly and sweet! I have been tannning in other salons and they're prices were high and the beds were garbage and the employees were not friendly but, NOT here! Everytime I have gone to tan here the staff of girls are so accomodating. The best in NYC!!! Kateria, May and Elexa are the best! So knowledgable about the beds and products, they are friendly and make you feel at home!

If you love to tan, this is where you need to be! My skin looks amazing and everywhere I go people ask me where did I go! I highly reccomend this place. Great tan and great staff! A+++++++

Whoever left the comments of an unprofessional staff needs to loosen up, it's a Tanning Salon, not a Republican Covnvention! These girls are great! You obviously are not from New York- that the noise of someone talking interupts you reading your book....

I will stay loyal to this salon! I luv it!!

best tanning salon in NY. I have been to almost every tanning salon in NY and im always feeling pressured into buying packages, dont see and color, and staff isnt too nice. I just want to say how happy i am that i was walking down 7th ave and saw tan in the shade, the staff is awsome you see imediate color ands prices are great for the city also i was told about all packages but not pressured to buy, the girl behind the desk said to try it out and when i was ready i could buy a package and broke down to me exactly how much i would be saving! i wish i could remeber her name to giver her credit what i can say is her tan was amazing which made it more comfortable for me to take her advice on which bed to use. Over all my experience was great and im a sold customer!!!!!

I loveD Tan In The Shade. I JUST WANTED TO SAY AS A WALK IN I WAS GREETED BY 2 GIRLS AMANDA AND MYLA AND THEY WERE BOTH SO KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT ALL THE BEDS, I WAS TERRIFIED TO USE THE SPRAY TAN I HAD A WEDDING IN 2 DAYS BUT THEY WALKED ME THREW IT AND WHEN I WAS DONE I JUST FELT SO RELEIVED. I ALSO HAVE TO SAY IM ADDICTED!!!! I LOVE THE FACILITY IT WAS CLEAN AND HAD A VERY TRENDY ENVIROMENT (GREAT MUSIC) I WILL RETURN AND RECOMEND TO ANYONE I KNOW!!

Train the new staff before leaving them alone. I've been going here to tan for a while. The veteran staff are really nice, but they've hired these new girls and they need training on not only how to run the computer but professionalism. In the last week I've heard the new girl sitting there in front of a crowd of customers talk about how she doesn't know what she's doing and has no idea how to run the computer. Then I'm waiting for my tan and this one girl goes into the middle of the waiting area and goes on a loud long rant about her personal issues to the girl sitting behind the desk. It was completely uncomfortable and impossible to read over her ranting. She was cursing also and had on a skimpy halter dress which was not appropriate for work even if you are working in a tanning salon, put some friggin clothes on...it looked like a cross between a curtain cut into a bath towel, and worn like a bath towel when you get out of the shower, and it was held up by a string. Then of course one of the male customers was leering at her and hitting on her and trying to pick her up before and after he got out of the tanning room.

I'm going to change where I tan if they don't shape up their staff.

Friendly staff, great options, busy salon.. Friendly service and they always answer my questions. The prices are reasonable for the city. The only drawback is that is such a great place that sometimes it's busy. I'm definitely going to be a loyal customer though.

Great customer service. I don't know how nycgal had a bad experience because this place is great, the girls are very nice & friendly. The place is very clean and cozy it is not that big but comfortable enough, the wait isn't long. The machines are great you get a tan after your first visit. The prices could be a little better but overall I really recommend this place, not to mention that it is in a convenient area in midtown. The spray tan is also cool they have clear and bronze.
