“immediately tried to get a refund from the overpriced taroo store after i explained the situation - unfortunately no refunds at taroo - only store credit & a big "im sorry" from cashier.”
DO NOT SHOP THERE. DO NOT SHOP THERE!!! I went there about a week ago and was in the dressing room line to try on two dresses that were on sale. The sales person told me I had to wait until the customers with the regular priced items tried on their clothes. I was in shock! I just handed her the dresses and as I was leaving she proceeded to say " we have a bathroom if you want to try them on in there". VERY RUDE!!!! POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE and DISCRIMINATION!!!!! DO NOT SHOP THERE!!! and spread the word! Plus they are very overpriced and you can find the same items in other boutiques or even at Forever 21 for a lot cheaper.
what a shame!.
i bought 2 dresses at taroo today. 1 dress cost $142 & the other cost $108. after i left the store i stopped by fatu on 33rd st-fatu had the same dress i purchased 4 $142 for only $48!!! fatu also mentioned that they did carry the dress i purchased 4 $108 for only $50 - but were now sold out. what a mark up ladies! i immediately tried to get a refund from the overpriced taroo store after i explained the situation - unfortunately no refunds at taroo - only store credit & a big "im sorry" from cashier.
save ur money ladies & do not shop at taroo. terrible customer service.
Mostly great stuff. I've bought a few things at Taroo on the west side, and I've loved them all. The styles are original and the fit is perfect. Occassionally there are a few items that are overpriced and look a little too handmade, and the dressing rooms are way too small, but overall it's definitely worth a visit.
Trendy Style, Soft touchable fabrics, this store is a treasure!. I don't know what that other reviewer was talking about. I love Taroo, and am sure to come out of there with something wonderful practically everytime I visit. They have tons of reasonably priced fashionable styles that come in particularly soft, silky fabrics, and they really have some neat designs you don't find everywhere else. Their salespeople are always nice - they'll even tell you if something doesn't look good on you! - and they have pretty accessories as well. Only problem is the tiny dressing rooms!
The H&M of the Upper East Side.
From the service to the quality to the atmosphere, this is a low-rent version of Pookie & Sebastian down the street.
The clothes I have both purchased from and browsed at Taroo have always been the fashion equivalent of mutton dressed as lamb. The quality is shoddy, they're badly made, of cheap construction, and will fall apart or mutate after one or two washings. Truly disposable clothing and it's been difficult to understand how the attitude of the staff can be justified by the merchandise they sell.
