Unbeatable Range of Hair Products
by Liz Lindsey at Citysearch
Ah, Ricky's! Although you are best known for your fabulous costumes and accessories during Halloween, for your incredible selection of false eyelashes, stage makeup and fun colorful wigs (platinum, purple, fuschia or lime green, anyone?), your nail polishes, love oils and powders, I adore you simply for your fantastic array of hair products. I've never found another store like Ricky's when it comes to shampoo, conditioner, styling cremes, gels and sprays.... they've got everything from Head & Shoulders to Artec, Carol's Daughter, Kerastase, Deva Curl, Biosilk, Abba, Kiss My Face, Alterna, Fekkai, John Frieda, Klorane, Murad, Nature's Gate, Bumble & Bumble and Phyto--just to name a few.
Aack! I've got myself so worked up picturing their shelves of product that I'm leaving to go there right now. See you there, everybody!
No Knife for Me!
by Kourtney DeRosa at Citysearch
Did you just get a glimpse of yourself in the mirror and say, “What the heck happened to me?” Do you feel like it’s time you get a new look without going under the knife? Well, if you feel anything like I did after I had my son, you probably want a make over, or maybe just a make me back to the way I used to look! Shortly after I had my son I was wandering the streets of Manhattan, stroller in tow, when I stumbled upon Ricky’s. I vaguely remembered shopping there years earlier when I stopped in after happy hour, but my memories were vague- like I said I went after a few cocktails.
When I walked into Ricky’s I was pleasantly surprised with the selection. I honestly didn’t know where to begin. This store has everything from hair care, to make up to accessories and costumes. Oh, and some X rated items too!
Needless to say, I left not only with my stroller and son but three bags full of products. My favorite purchases were the funky OPI nail polish colors that only cost me $2, the Mattese Bronzer and the Alba Coconut Milk hair wash which was under $10 for a 12oz bottle. All three products have become a part of my everyday life.
Overall this place is great if you’re looking for a little, “pick me up”. Thanks you Ricky’s for helping me look like myself again. My looks were slipping before I met you!
