SAVE YOURSELF FROM THIS PLACE!!! – Lived on the UWS my entire life and have frequented Big Nicks, but my most recent experience there has turned me to never support or eat at any of Nick's eateries EVER again.
Save yourself from Big Nicks, trust me on this one! Unfortunately it took me 27 years to learn about this horrible business. . . if you are looking for late night eats, there is always Chirping Chicken, Europan and other clean, respectable establishment who treat customers appropriately.
The best pizza and burger place - hands down! – I have been coming here for lunch quite often over these past few months and let me tell you it is pretty hard to find good food, friendly people, as well as great prices all in one deal. The waiters there are excellent, service is also fast, (whether i order a burger, pizza, or a full Italian dinner). MrMookie claims that the boss scolded the waitress, however he is talking about the one on 77th and Broadway as they do have waitresses. Within the time frame that i visit this place whether it be during the day for lunch or the late night with my buddies, i have never seen any waitresses, only waiters. I also have met the owner and hes a great man, very patient and easy going.
Great place - Definitely Recommended
The Owner Needs to Learn How to Treat His Employees – While the food is pretty good (don't think it is as good as the reviews say), but will NEVER go back after watching the owner scold one of the hard-working waitresses in front of all the customers. There is a way to talk to your employees and this guy is a f***ing loser and as a result I REFUSE to support his business. After telling numerous friends tihs story, they have decided to boycott the place.
great for a quick, fresh, tasy meal! – was there on saturday afternoon after a walk in the park w/my friends. what a great selection and menu for such a casual place. the portions were generous, fresh and tasty. a great place to go for a quick and inexpensive meal. the staff was friendly and the service was great!
great waitor – our waitor was so nice! he is what made the experience great. quick service and really good pizza, especially for the price. small, comfortable setting.
Couldn't get worse! – I have ordered from here many times, and mostly with fairly good results. Nothing great, but decent for the price, and late night/early morning convenience. But the last time I ordered, it took almost 2 hours, the food arrived cold, and half of the order was missing. When I called to ask about it I was told "we're busy", and the man hung up the phone on me. Customers understand when places are busy, but let people know 'we have a lot of orders, and this will take longer than usual for delivery', then you know what you're in for as a customer, and the business doesn't have to deal with angry people. Yes you may do less in sales that day, but you'll do more in sales in the future because you won't lose clients due to late and mismanaged orders.
Great pizza, grilled chicken salads; amazing variety – This restaurant was a great find for quick, casual eating, but amazing menu variety with home-cooked, fresh flavor. The pizza was really great, but I want to go back to try their hamburgers. They had all kinds on the menu. It's in a great location for those with kids visiting the upper West side, Museum of Natural History, Beacon Theater, etc.!
What don't they have? – If its late, and you want a burger, but your friend wants a pizza, and your other friend wants a gyro, and your other other friend wants a sandwitch, come to Big Nicks. They can make you more or less anything with their huge menu and their small kitchen. I've been comming to Big Nicks for a while, often taking the walk over when I'm hungry but don't have a clue what I want. I always seem to find what I'm looking for on their menu. With reasonable prices, Big Nicks goes over well with anyone. My suggestion for a first timer is the Garlic Sumo Burger w/Mozzeralla Cheese. Its HUGE and its always cooked right.
SUMO BURGERS – The Sumo burger is heavenly it is a Meat lovers dream. 1 pound of hamburger on a bun with any and I mean any topping you want. I believe this comes with an order of fries and a 20 oz drink for less than 10 dollars!!!!!!!!!!!
I Highly recommond this meat lovers haven.
