Lovely Getaway in Washington Heights. I love Aqua Marina, its a very small restaurant but its a great escape from the rest of the eateries in the neighborhood. There aren't many places that can offer this cuisine in a more upscale atmosphere while offering very affordable prices. I love the pasta, i highly recommend the penne a la vodka, it is simply delicious. They have great daily, lunch and early bird specials! If you live in the neighborhood this place is a must!

Awful, but they DID try....
My friend and I went to Aqua Marina last night because it's local for my friend. Well all I can say is don't do it! Save yourselves.
The menu looks great, but the prepared results are pathetic in their interpretation at best. I ordered the Clams Casino (not Clams Casino more like...boiled Cherry Stones returned to the shell with boiled slab of what they call Bacon topped with a dab of Marinara Sauce swimming in water), along with a so-called Fusilli Perinod with Shrimp. First of all, they did not serve Fusilli, it was Linguine. Then the Perinod which was the correct color but definitely NOT the right taste (resembled pink cream with an aftertaste of Lemon Perfume -- YUCK.!) had drowned the Shrimp, Asparagus and those poor unsuspecting Sun dried tomatoes.
$40 later and I'm still wondering why I didn't order the Fried Calamari. What harm can come to fried anything? Oh, and did I mention that they do have a full bar? I wonder what harm can come to prepared drinks? Hmmm. Glad I had the "cheap" Chardonnay instead.
BTW, who gave this place 3.5 stars? Are they kidding!?
