The Scene – Follow the votive candles downstairs to a sweet hideaway. Simon Oren, of Sushi Samba and the bar's upstairs neighbor Marseilles, has turned what was the restaurant's private party room into a sensuous Moroccan lounge. The dreamy Arabic music, passionate colors and low lighting make you feel like you're meeting a lover. Groups make themselves at home in the couch-filled red room, while couples lean in over candlelit cocktail tables in the pink room. – – The Draw – Kemia means "tapas" in Moroccan. Very Bad Lounge

I have come here earlier and it used to be an all right place. But its no longer the same. Last two times I have been here, it was my worst experience ever in a NYC club or lounge.
I suggest to never go there.
WORST PLACE

Bad Service
Bad Food
Too Crowded and Worst Crowd
Someone Vomited in the middle of dance floor. Guess what, it wasn't cleaned for whole night by the Staff. People just kept dancing there. We had to stay as we ordered food prior to this incident.
After requesting a few times to the staff to please take care of this situation, what we get to hear is that we shouldn't try to create problems and just enjoy our dinner or leave.
- Pros: None
- Cons: No enjoyment for the time you spent there
Rude Staff
by luvinNYC at Citysearch
I was recently at Kemia and disliked the experience because of the bouncers/security people. They kept pushing people everytime they went through the crowd without a reason. If they had just used a flashlight or said excuse me, I'm sure people would have made room for them to pass by. Instead they said nothing and literally pushed everyone - spilling drinks and tripping girls in heels. I also don't like that you have to check your coat even if you're wearing a heavy sweater. It's winter, and it's cold!
- Pros: Ambiance
- Cons: Staff/Bouncers
