Editorial Review for Century Sports Club & Spa – by Jenner Bishop
The Scene
It's wet inside: a row of standing (European) showers, two rows of seated (Asian) showers, and not a shower curtain in sight. Devotees of Korean bathhouses arrive fully aware that modesty's no virtue here. For ladies of all ages and body types, the scrubbing and rinsing is unabashed, and robes and towels are scarcely worn. The spa's interior is serviceable, neither dazzling nor dumpy--think fitness-center locker room at a 20-year-old Ramada Inn. Atmosphere bonus points are awarded for the sunlight glowing through the glass bricks, allowing every bead of hovering condensation to be meditatively counted.
The Services
Body scrub with oil massage is the mainstay of the Korean bathhouse. Naked and prone on a wet table, you'll be sanded and smoothed with a scratchy green towel, then slathered with oil for a staccato workout of the kinks that ail you. While the experience is far from relaxing, patrons will enjoy the softest skin they have felt since childhood.
The Details
Soaking tubs, cold plunge, steam room, dry sauna, quiet rooms. Massage, wet treatments.

Insider Tips
Know Before You GoEnter the parking lot off Bronson Avenue (a block east of Crenshaw), then take the elevator. The men's spa is on the first floor; the women's spa is on the second.
The ExtrasThe spa has two bona fide quiet rooms: one with clay floors, one with marble floors--each is said to have different healing properties. Unwind, meditate, or catnap in either room.

I did not try any of the treatments although the spa menu looked very intriguing. I just wasn't at all impressed with this facility. It is seriously in need of some updates. The light fixture right above the showers were so rusty and falling apart it was kind of scary actually. There is no mugwort or herbal bath which is charactaristic of korean spas and no relaxation area. It really has potential. The location is great, parking is great, the employees are nice, and there is a tanning bed you can use for as long as you want, for free..but...needs WORK!

When I first got there I was pretty disappointed. The place looks nothing like a Spa. It's beat up and dingy kinda like a Holiday Inn by the Airport. Also, you have to get fully naked. If are shy in the nude, don't go here. The actual "spa" ammenities were not that great. There is no soothing music, no cucumber water, and its not all airy and light. The scrub treatment I had was called Asian Secret. I must say that the scrub and oil massage was excellent. It literally buffs your skin smooth. I only wish that the place was cleaner and more relaxing. I may go back, but I definitely won't be a regular.
Pros: Scrub Treatment, Oil Massage
Cons: Not Relaxing, Somewhat unclean, Smelly
