“Rescue is a great concept for a salon and spa, but repeated experiences with rude, snappy and condescending staff make me never want to go back despite the quality services.”

“They claim to be moderately priced- but pricing and services aren't consistant at all 3 locations, this particular location is expensive.”
“Service was extremely slow, I was dying to get out of there and left w/a smudged toe!”
Best manicure. in Manhattan, period..
My boss was kind enough to get me a gift certificate to Rescue - even though I work next door I had always thought it was too pricey. However, the manicure and service I receieved, as well as the amazing environment, has turned me into a repeat customer as well as a lover of all of Ji's Rescue Beauty products.
Ladies (and gentlemen), take it from me: paying that extra $10 really makes a world of difference. Not only will your nails be amazing, but the Rescue lounge creates a wonderful, indulgent atmosphere. When I wander over from the office with my coworkers, we always feel like we are being transported to an airy spa in Mexico or the Greek Isles. It really does wonders for our work ethic.
Not only that, but the nail products are amazing as well, and now I can give myself a manicure at home! I gave my friend a manicure with the Rescue products and turned her into a fan too! Ji has always been helpful and thoughtful, helping me pick the right color always ready with a smile at the door.
A manicure from here can last for two weeks with great results, and I have had my pedicure for three weeks and it still looks as shiny and well-shaped as the day I got it. A definite must for any nail lover!!
Fantastic pedicure!!. I treated myself to a manicure/pedicure at Rescue Beauty. Having purchased several of the polishes online, I knew the quality of the services would be exceptional. I was absolutely correct!!! My appointment was on time, the services were peaceful and relaxing. I had a sensational pedicure which is definitely in my top three of all time. The manicure was also fantastic and the polish lasted for an entire week...even with tons of typing. A definite recommendation!
In need of a rescue. I had gotten a gift certificate for a signature manicure & pedicure at Rescue for Mother's Day last year. As the expiration approached I finally got around to making an appointment. The cubby that you are in would be fine for just a pedicure but it is awkward because the manicurist has to stand the entire time. As I sat there and looked around, for the prices they are charging, they could have done some touch-up painting and cleaned the cushions. The cushion across the way from me had some cream or scrub on it left over from the privious pedicure. The only thing 'signature' about the service was the scrub they applied - big whoop. For the price it cost the person who gave me the gift, I could have gotten better results three times over including a tip at my local nail salon. I don't normally post reviews but felt I needed to send the word out here. Ladies - Rescue Beauty Lounge is in dire need of a resue it self.
bad managment. The service that they provided in this place is worst than the corner nails place. and talkin about the owner Ji she is such a rude person who doesnt know how to treat costumers. she has a real bad attituted, always with a dog face nasty behavior and disgusting education.
The $55 pedicure....
My girlfriend's a big fan of Rescue Beauty Lounge's signature color - Revamp. So we decided to get a pedicure at the infamous Lounge the weekend she came in to visit.
The staff was friendly enough. The hot tea should have been a glass of wine... I guess what it boils down to is the price of a pedicure. I mean seriously... it's nail polish. And I don't think it included gold flecks. Maybe I'm just spoiled by the many, many salon services all over NYC, who do just as good a job as the folks at RBL, yet charge only $12. You're paying for the name. And ladies, for those of you who do like the darker colors, and have been looking forward to trying the new dark by RBL, Black Russian - buyer beware. It's just Revamed - Renamed. What a disappointment.
I will continue visiting the gals in the salon just around the corner. I will pay my $12 + tip and be just as happy with the results. Actually, I'll be happier, having saved $43!
Good service. I have been a client here for awhile and like the services they render. Nice location and clean facility.
Rescue Me From Rescue!!. My appt last night at Rescue will be my LAST one ever. I wrote a review on here back in '04 & wow .. how my opinion of this place has changed. Gi (the owner) is SO RUDE. I think she has scared away all the good nail techs she used to have there. Her manager actually told my friend and I to lower our voices while we were in our booth getting manis & pedis & talking. UNBELIEVABLE. The last time I was there the girls rushed us out & when I got home my pedi was completely messed up. Also, the products they use now don't compare to Pure Fiji, what they used to use. I can go on & on but I won't. NEVER going back there again.
It was good. I went there despite the bad reviews here because of the mentions it gets in magazines. I was very happy with my "Complete Pedicure" by Nicki. I liked the "steel bar" across the pedicure chair because I used it as a desk to read my magazine. Nicki did a great job on my feet and I would go back when they need an overhaul--althoung not on a regular basis because of the high price.
This Rescue provides no salvation. I hosted a shower at Rescue on Gansevoort and I'll never go back. Front desk service rushed, rude and inattentive. Service below average - beware if you order mani and pedi - they did them both at once for some of us - hardly relaxing. Also, for the price (which was more than what was advertised on the website) you'd expect a lot more - less rushed, more care. Manis and Pedis were fine but nothing special. Also, not great for groups depsite marketing to the contrary - "private" rooms not really private and hold a max of 4. You could do just as well going to the local Pinky. This location is sure to go out of business soon - it would be doing us all a favor.
Incredibly Rude Service. Rescue is a great concept for a salon and spa, but repeated experiences with rude, snappy and condescending staff make me never want to go back despite the quality services. Phone calls and appointment bookings are handled gruffly and without any gratitude or graciousness.
