Hillbilly in a beauty studio. I grew up in Western PA. A guy-guy with a bad haircut and hillbilly ideals. Never imagined I would find myself writing a review for a salon.

I met Gabriel through a friend 13 years ago and he's been cutting my hair ever since. I'm still amazed at how a great haircut can make you feel.

Gabriel and Jeff are great at what they do and are simply good people. The studio is located on a great block in the West Village and the small space lends itself to the intimacy of the neighborhood.

From the moment you step inside the charming and chic studio you feel at home and I never want to leave! These two superstars will change your life so immediately leave your old stylist and book an appointment asap.

No praise too high. This is hands-down the best salon experience imaginable. I see Gabriel and I have never gotten a better cut or color from anyone. The results are so excellent, I wish I could post pictures on citysearch. I've walked into a lot of upscale salons, armed with a blind optimism that the stylist will make me look my best--and Sparkle is the only establishment to have met and exceeded my expectations *every time*. The personal attention, the atmosphere, the fabulous playlists on the stereo--everything is perfect. Gabriel seems to have an intuitive understanding of my style and thus how I want to look walking out the salon doors. This must sound hyperbolic to the uninitiated, but I promise, you won't want to return to whomever you were seeing before. The Sparkle experience will make anyone unfaithful to their previous stylist.

Fantastic Service. Spakle Beauty Studio is an utter delight! The service is truly personalized, and they make you feel like you're their only client. Talk about feeling important! I have had my hair done by Gabriel a few times now, and everytime I've left feeling 100% satisfied. I can't say enough good things about Sparkle!! A rare find in the sea of NYC beauty salons.

Fantastic Salon, The Best In The City. I made an appointment the other day for this place, having walked past it many times. I'm extremely particular when it comes to my hair and have tried many NY salons. I've never been so ecstatic about a cut and color in my life! The owners greeted me with such politeness and introduced me to Laura the assistant. it's not often in this crazy city of ours that people are so thoughtful. I was given a consultation and felt like I'd really been listened too. The cut took an hour and the attention to detail was amazing. What really stood out was the color. I've been trying to get this particular shade of blonde for years, but no-one has been able to get even close. All this and a great atmosphere too. I have recommended this place to many of my friends and am going back in 6 weeks. I'm hooked!

cutest place. I recently moved to New York and I was recommended by a friend to Laura at Sparkle. I couldn't seem to get my color exactly how I wanted it. She took care of my color, it looks great and my cut is so easy so manage. She took such great care of me, even moisturized my hands with their sparkle lotion and touched up my makeup. The salon is so cute and everyone is really sweet.

Obnoxious attitude for amateur service. I went here for a touch-up on a bad highlighting job I got at another salon. I brought a picture of the color that I wanted so there would be no miscommunication, but I ended up getting a much darker color with ugly gray undertones. I looked like Michael Keaton in Beatlejuice and they charged me a ludicrous sum for it.

The worst part was the insufferable attitude of the stylist. He clearly has an inflated sense of his own skill (and importance). He kept on barking orders at his poor assistant.

The whole experience was a waste of time and money. Not recommended.

make an appt with laura..she is really great!. i was a first-timer at Sparkle Studio and went to Laura. she was a cool, professional chick who knows what she is doing. she is confidence and it shows in her work. i highly recommend going to her for cut/color!

The BEST Salon In NYC By FAR!. I have been going to Sparkle for over two years, and Gabriel is just fantastic, he makes me look absolutely gorgeous everytime. I get compliments daily from colleagues and clients on my hair, and on the color and the cut. The personalized service, warm and respectful treatment and accommodating nature of Gabriel and Jeffrey make this Salon the best I have ever been too. I have been recommending Sparkle to everyone and can't say enough great things about this place, I am just so glad I found them! And while yes, this great work and royal treatment come with a price, it is well worth it, when you look great you feel great, and it flows into every aspect of your life, you start taking even better care of yourself when you are happy with what you see!! Thank you Jeffrey and Gabriel!!

New Stylist Laura is very good. They have a new stylist there named Laura who gave me the best cut and color I've got in years. She is friendly, professional, and does a really great job. This salon is literally the gem of the West Village.
