great asian food. The food was awesome! The steak plate with cilantro sauce was exceptionally delicious and it costs less than $10. The sandwiches were great too. And all the plates were huge, which prevented me from trying the soups and salads...this place was much smaller than I expected, yet cozy and we were able to stay as long as we wished.

great food and service. mooncake foods is a must for great pan asian food. the best dishes are the miso glazed salmon, fish tacos and the steak dish. the lobster mango rolls are great starters. prices are unbeatable and the staff is always very friendly from the waitresses, waiter and the chefs.

Hidden gem. I went in there randomly the other day, even though it was busy, i dont have to wait long to order, a minute after i ordered my drink was on the table and 5 minutes later the food was there! Quality of the food is amazing for its price (sliced steak platter is less than $9!)... I loved it. Now i'm about to order my lunch delivered from there :)

It's a mooncake!. This place is amazing! And consistent! And always fresh! I order here at least once a week. I always get the same thing, cilantro steak entree. I am not a creature of habit, but I can't get enough of this dish. Almost two years I've been addicted. I dream about it. I am in love with it. To be perfectly honest, I've never once actually step foot in the restaurant. Always ordered in, and always was extermely happy.

Randomly delicious. Most random location and random place and random menu. But freakin' terrific. And priced really reasonably. A clean but bare-boned interior, small and diner-esque with a good vibe and a very friendly, welcoming staff. The food is the hero here, and they have the most unique and surprising menu I've seen... and everything on it rocks. Literally everything on the menu is amazing.

Fresh, zesty food with a familial vibe!. Mmm, Mooncake. Few restaurants I've been to consistently offer such a high quality of freshness and zing in such a wide range of dishes. When I was there last I had fresh edamame soup, a rather inventive creation I never thought I'd end up trying. Delicious, energizing. Wish I could remember exactly which salad I had (it was terrific) but I know I had a wonton soup that was also a home run. Mooncake fits the bill for me because the flavor quotient is high, their food gives you all the vitamins and nutrients you'll need to power up and go about your business for the rest of the day, and it does so with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Everybody working there's in a good mood there because they're into the food too -- always a telltale positive sign in a restaurant. Put this one on your list and set a date to visit!

Healthy Late Night Choice. As usual, I went to Citysearch to find a place for me and my fiance to eat on the late night tip after church. The first choice that popped up was Mooncake. Everything that was described sounded tasty and healthy, right up our alley. Saving for our wedding, the price was right too! I ordered the steak salad and my baby had the grilled chicken. His food looked lovely and tasted even better, with sides of rice and crispy green beans. My salad was bountiful and full of spice. I wish it had a bit of sweetness to balance out the overpowering sourness. The waitstaff was very friendly. My only pet peeve was our being told that they were closing in 10 minutes; I thought that was rude. Working in the service industry myself, I would never say that to a client! That being said, I would definitely go back because the food was

yummy and the ginger tea was unforgettable!

Just Lovely. My friend and I went to this place merely on a whim because it was listed under "best cheap eats in NYC" but we were in for a pleasant surprise! The decor is very unassuming almost chintzy but don't let that detour you from going in! The feeling from when you step in the door is cozy and casual. There's a wonderful "lunch counter" if you will, that streams nearly the length of the restaurant and cute little tables set here and there. The waitress on this evening was very friendly and extremely accommodating with helping us decide on our meals. There was also great pop music playing from the 80s. The service was very prompt even as it started to fill up. We both really enjoyed our food, "tuna burger w/wasabi mayo and steak & peppers w/ garlic dill mayo sandwiches served with a tasty side salad. Though the menu choices weren't vast, but the plates I saw being served looked quite tempting and smelled delicious! The menu also doesnt list the desserts they have to offer which should not be missed! The best part about the evening was that long after we finished our meals we weren't pressured to pay up and leave, we able to sit and talk comfortably.

The Best!. I just got back from NYC, and we went all over the place to eat. Mooncake Foods, was, by far, the best. The food was delicious, and it was so affordable. The summer rolls were light and tasted very healthy, in a good way. Both of my friends got the chicken, which came with the most delicious cilantro chili sauce. The sauce was so good that my male friend wanted to take some home. I got the steak kabobs with peanut sauce, which were big and juicy and done to perfection. The service was also wonderful and friendly, and made us feel at home. The only thing was that the restaurant was a bit small - but we got there right on time and didn't have to wait for a table. Whether you are a local or a visitor, this place is not to be missed.

Simple goodness. I work nearby and I eat here at least once a week, if not more. It is very healthy yet cleverly delicious. You just have to try it to believe it! People who work there are always wonderful. In fact, I think I'm going to have to go there for lunch today. I really can't recommend just one dish because they're ALL good. It's pretty small and it gets packed during lunch time, so you have to go early or slightly late. If you get it to pick-up or deliever, you don't have to worry about that though.
