ok decent service decent food nothing to rave about. the service here was alright a little sluggish, cool bar stools really remind of dublin, food was a little stale, but hey- you should be there for the drinks anyway!

If You Can't Take the Heat, Don't Own a Pub. I ate at Blaggards Pub back in April. The food was mediocre, and the service was slow and clumsy - the waitresses wandered around the back of the pub without looking over for long periods of time. We had to ask for the check twice, and then the waitress took forever to come get my credit card once she'd brought the check.

I wrote a review for another site pointing out these problems, and for my trouble I received an e-mail from Blaggards management that jumped to inappropriate conclusions, insulted me, and came awfully close to threatening me.

In the meantime, I continued to go to Blaggards to play poker and have a few drinks almost every Monday; I simply didn't want to bother having dinner there. But after a few more rounds of email with the manager, during which I attempted to be polite yet constructively critical, I was banned from the establishment forever.

Seems like a pretty short-sighted business practice to ban anyone who gives a negative review, but if they're willing to accept the consequences, they certainly have the right to do it.

Surly bartender. Bartender just spoils the place - he's so surly and rude that he makes you feel you're an imposition on his busy day. No pretense of being polite either. Refreshing to run across someone who simply doesn't give a rat's ***, but I'll never go back there as a result.

That bartender no longer works there.

Like a new family! (But with an early kitchen!). Filled with nooks and crannies, Blaggards is a good place to bring a group and have a slightly private party. On December 23, the place was not crowded. It was easy to accommodate our ever-expanding group... despite the dire warnings of the daytime bartender the day before. Although the kitchen officially closes at 10PM (early!) they were still able to scrape up some appetizers at 10:30. The cool thing is they made the effort.

The food was typical Irish Bar food. Shepherd's pie, bangers and mash, buffalo wings (not very spicy, but not 100% wimp either). The beer had a decent variety, including Smithwicks, Killians, and the usual Guinness. The greatness of the place were the authentic Irish bartenders who were so terrific they became part of the party. A round of beer on the house. A round of something clear shmutzed with something sweet and white with a kick like the buffalo wings SHOULD HAVE had. Yow! Wadda night!

This seems like a great place to hang out. It's not expensive (food and LOTS of drinks cost about $27 each... including the tip), and it's got such a friendly mellow atmosphere, you'll think it's part of the family.

great personalities. friendliest irish bar in our 2010 christmas irish bar crawl, always check out at least dozen every year, to the manager (don't remember name, might have been liam, but attractive guy in 50's from kildare), great deal on very classy bar shirt (soccor jersey style), just wanted to say merry xmas, I checked out your buddy, Bill bryson, once i saw the coverof the book about appalachian trail i totally remembered seeing it before, always curious about book, based on your recommendation, ordered from amazon, thanks for the pleasant visit, not as mobbed as pubs closer to rockerfeller center, but very convenient to macys and 33rd st PATH, great service, also looks like awesome party area in the back, really enjoyed you and the bar maid and bartenders (despite their age) lol

Great place for food & Craic!. Ate & drank there two nights while in New York for a couple of days. Staff very friendly & helpful. Food was the best we had while staying in New York. The Dublin fish & chips were very good. Service was good. Hi to Tommy, the funny bar man who kept us entertained. How you doing! Would recommend it to all going to New York. Will go back there when visiting next time.

experience from hell!. I ordered and got tired of waiting for my food, so I called to ask where is the food? They were rude on the phone, hang up on me and refused to pick when i called back. Kept redialing like almost ten times, and when my food finally showed up almost two hours late, the food was horrible!! The exprience was horrible from beginning to end, totally not worth it, i would avoid the "restaurant" at all costs, phew!

I really like this pub. I was reminded of this place by friend when we went there other night. The food is good, but the vibe is really nice. It's fairly spacious with wood panneling. Last time I was there they has some Irish musicians kickin' it. It was great. I highly recommend this place.
