  1. would sum up this restaurant as having excellent quality of food, enormous a-la-carte sushi selection for serious sushi lovers.
  2. Now to the good stuff - the food.
  3. If you need exotic rolls and other creations to satisfy your tongue, go elsewhere to other great sushi places like Sushi of Gari.
  4. The fish was incredibly fresh, tried snapper sashimi which was quite nice.
  5. For me, this, along w/ SY and JB, is the best sushi in NY.
  6. would say this is the best sushi restaurant!
  7. Just try not to ask for their cold sake hot or for a spicy tuna roll and you will be fine.
  8. (Now, they open 7 days a week - both lunch and dinner) Their food preparation and presentation is always done in a professional manner.
  9. Only authentic sushi is served, so no spicy tuna, no crunchy rolls etc.
  10. have tried many Japanese restaurants in NY but almost all the restaurantans never serve good Japanese food.
  11. Very tasty dishes all around with a nice collection of affordable sake.
  12. Pricey but very fresh Sushi
  13. In the tradition of Sushi Say and other No frills sushi bars, excellent high level quality of fish prepared by a skilled sushi chef.

Try their lunch menu today or tomorow!

I have tried many Japanese restaurants in NY but almost all the restaurantans never serve good Japanese food. TakeSushi is one of the few authentic and Japanese-managed restaurants in New York City. They offer wonderful lunch specials within a reasonable budget. (Now, they open 7 days a week - both lunch and dinner) Their food preparation and presentation is always done in a professional manner. If you need to find any good Japanese restaurants that opens for weekend lunch, Take Sushi is the place to go!

Sooooooooooooo Good

by James7070 at Citysearch

We happened upon this place after visiting some friends. Neither of us are from the area so we took a chance. What a charming discovery! The staff is pleasant and efficient. Although she was busy w/ other tables, our waitress managed to refresh our drinks without delay. The decor is lovely and not at all "in your face".

Now to the good stuff - the food. OUT OF THIS WORLD FRESH sushi / sashimi. Do yourself a favor and try the miso soup. The kind I tried had a hint of citrus flavor and was simply delicious. All around a good experience. We will definitely bring friends the next time we go.

  • Pros: Good service, good food

Pricey but very fresh Sushi

by sushi_search at Citysearch

This place is quite expensive. Only authentic sushi is served, so no spicy tuna, no crunchy rolls etc. The service is incredibly polite and attentive. I only saw Japanese clientele. All the spots were reserved on Saturday night meaning no walk ins allowed. The fish was incredibly fresh, tried snapper sashimi which was quite nice. Its worth coming here for the sushi, I didn't particularly care for the hot dishes-many other do that better. Overall Excellent.

  • Pros: Fresh Fish, Service
  • Cons: Expensive

excellent quality but a bit pricy

by eatgoodfood2 at Citysearch

I would sum up this restaurant as having excellent quality of food, enormous a-la-carte sushi selection for serious sushi lovers. Once again, no art sushi here. Food can be enjoyed in a very private setting, with the front window screened off inside a very clean interior. Portions are a bit small so you tend to get overwhelmed at the check out counter when you've realized that you ordered a bit too much.

  • Pros: excellent quality, service
  • Cons: bit pricy

Best Sushi Restaurant In NY!

by fusachu at Citysearch

I am Japanese from Tokyo. I tried so many sushi/ Japanese restaurants in NY. I would say this is the best sushi restaurant!! I feel that I am in Tokyo when I eat there. Great fish and simple plates. This is not like any other American style "roll sushi" restaurants, this is a place where real Japanese people go and trust.
