Warning! Don't go to this place for hair straightening. The worst experience I ever had for Japanese hair straightening. My hair got burned in a lot of areas including the roots. The supposedly 4-hour procedure was done in only 2 hours so the result was very awful. In a week's time, my hair is no longer straight. I cant express enough how unsatisfactory their service was and how dissatisfied I was. They purposefully didn't do it right for reasons I cannot fathom. They're purely interested in your money and not to customer satisfaction. It's not a joke to pay $260 for only a week's worth of straight hair. They should stop this straightening business ASAP.

Wonderful Japanese Straightening & Chocolate Keratin. I just had the Japanese Straightening and Chocolate Keratin done on my hair with Suzie and Andy. They are the best!

My hair looks and feels fantastic. This is my 5th time going to Bloom for this service over the past 4 years (I've tried others but always come back...) and I couldn't be happier!

The salon is clean, comfortable and the staff is extremely friendly! Suzie even got me coffee from starbucks and a snack while I was there. She is so sweet! :)

I only have one comment/suggestion -The cost of the Japanese straightening is $200 and the Keratin is $150 but if you do them both at once, they charge you $275. (half off Keratin) However by using the Keratin instead of the neutralizer, it actually makes the process a bit easier, since hair is only flat ironed one time. That being said, I don't think it should be an extra $75. I think the price could be a bit less.

It obviously doesn't stop me from going there - I think they are amazing and will continue to drive 45 minutes to this salon! I highly recommend it! A+

Best Hairstylists Ever. Bloom Spa has some of the best hairstylists, Suzie and Andy. They are very bright and funny people and make you feel comfortable. I trusted their work for a long time.

They specialize in Japanese Hair Straightening and Keratin Treatment.

My hair comes out smooth and silky all the time. They also do well with cuts, colors, and highlights.

I recommend you come here because im sure you'll leave as a happy customer.

my favorite nail salon in Manhattan. This is bar none, my favorite nail salon in Manhattan and I got to go for FREE this past weekend cuz I got gifted a LuxeNow nail salon giftcard recently (it’s like SpaFinder, but for nail salons you can use all over the city, check it out at www.LuxeNow) . it is cute, cozy, and most importantly, very clean. They open new mini packages of sterilized nail tools right in front of you, which is about as good as you can get on that front. They are so sweet, and the ladies working there are very professional and meticulous. The one draw back is that they do take a while to get everything done--it's much more of a spa experience than an in-and-out nail painting--but it's totally relaxing and worth every minute.

Excellent Nail Salon. As a New Yorker who has visited nail salons in just about every borough and in every corner of Manhattan, I have to say that this salon is definitely in my top two of preferred salons. The customer service is great, the prices are moderate, and my manicures actually last a full week.

Since becoming a frequent customer, I have moved to another borough. However, I still travel weekly to the salon.

Is every technician great? No. Are there language barriers? Yes. But, what authentic Korean nail salon in NYC does not have those issues?

The facilities are much more modern and spacious than your average Manhattan salon. Yet, their prices don't reflect it.

I highly recommend the salon.

Where is ERIC???? HELP!!!. ERIC was the senior hair stylist at Bloom Spa and the best one ever at that! I trust him with everything and got sooo many compliments on my hair. I called a few months ago to schedule an appt and they said he no longer worked there. Of course, the receptionist said she didn't know where he went (yeah right, I know that somewhere there HAS to know). I have been trying to google him and searching the UES for months now desperately looking for Eric...but no luck. IF YOU KNOW WHERE ERIC IS, PLEASE POST IT IN A REVIEW HERE TO HELP ME AND OTHERS GET THE BEST HAIR STYLIST BACK.

PS: Needless to say I refuse to give them anymore of my service since they were not willing to be helpful to me.

Best manicures and pedicures in the neighborhood. I'm shocked by some of the negative reviews...I've been going to Bloom for manicures and pedicures almost since they opened and can honestly say I have not had a single bad experience there.

The prices are more than reasonable (10.50 for a manicure, 20 for a pedicure, slightly more for the spa manicure or pedicure) and I have always been extremely happy with the results. They do a conscientious and thorough job, and most of the women are quite friendly. I'm also of the opinion that I prefer to read a magazine/relax while I get my nails done, rather than chat with the person who is doing the manicure/pedicure, so it strikes me as odd when people say that they are offended that their manicurist isn't conversational/friendly. It's also important to be mindful of the fact that this is a Manhattan nail salon - not everyone is going to speak perfect English.

As far as the space is concerned, I have lived in the neighborhood for years, and Bloom is by far the largest and the cleanest space around. I have never been concerned about the cleanliness of the salon itself or the tools, and there is plenty of space/dryers, so you never have to wait or basically sit in someone else's lap to get to your pedicure chair. It's not super modern, but there are tradeoffs - if you want a super fancy spa, you have to be willing to pay more to go someplace else. I'm more concerned about the quality of the service and a reasonable price, and Bloom has delivered both of those for years.

As for the stylist/hair area of the salon, I have never gotten a cut or color there, so I can't speak to that. As for the individual that commented that $50 was too much to spend on a haircut, personally, I think the price is more than reasonable. I have trouble believing you are on that tight of a budget if you didn't even bother to ask the price of the service you were receiving. However, that's just my two cents.

i'm not sure what to say???? good cut. bad pricing and awkward service : ~ (. so i'm not sure what to say.good cut : ) bad pricing and awkward service!!!! i walked in and didn't think to ask the price because i was only getting a dry cut. so i'm not really sure what the prices are like here but earlier i had purchased a spa special for my mom at a reasonable price and thought i should get a cut there as well. so i walked in and they did a dry cut in about 5-15 minutes. It couldn't have been longer. He was very attentive but didn't really talk to me. actually there was a translator their to tell him what i wanted. so he did a great job but i asked to cut my overgrown bands into sweep backs...he didn't even touch them. i have very thick hair and the back turned our great and it didn't look boxy at all but i guess it wasn't exactly what i had asked for. actually while he was still cutting my hair i asked if he could cut the bangs but i don't think he understood. he was very polite and the service was good but i guess the fact that he didn't speak much English made me feel kind of well awkward. they try really hard but the languages barrier kind of makes you feel like the service isn't as good. i mean no one wants to ask for sometime 3 or 4 time

i had originally gone there to get a consultation for Japanese thermal reconditioning/ straightening but since i had long hair i though to get a cut first. The cut turned out great probably one of the best in years but when i went to pay i was put in sticker shock! $$$50 for a 5-10 minute for just a dry cut??? oh i forgot to mention i am obviously a student and i brought my backpack in w me. they should mentioned something about the price. so still in shock i wanted to get out of there asap and paid w my credit card and completely forgot to add/give him a tip. i also forgot to get the consultation done and now i feel so awkward that i can't go with my mom for the spa special and nor the tr done there either.

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I went to bloom to recieve a special package deal for $90 which included a mani, pedi, and 1 hr massage. The woman who gave me my massage was excellent and it was very relaxing. Its when I came downstairs to recieve my mani pedi when things got bad. Stacey gave me my mani pedi. She was extremely abrasive, and she burned me with scolding hot water. She shoved me into the manicure chair and was even more abrasive there. She poked me and kept resting my hand on all of her tools. Then she told me to relax my hand, at this point I didn't feel relaxed at all because it seemed as if she was trying to win the marathon for manicurists. Then she yelled at me to put my hand a certain way, I couldn't belive she yelled at me. I have never been treated so poorly. I said EXCUSE ME, I want someone else to finish my manicure. So the manager came over to fiish it, and simply apologized like it was no big deal for her employee to yell at a customer. What a waste of time and money on my day off.

Prices are inconsistent. I have been going to Bloom since July 06, but I don't plan on going back because the prices aren't uniform. It seems like the stylist/technician just charges whatever he or she wants. Sometimes I feel like I'm getting cheated.

On my last visit, when I mentioned that other stylists/technicians charge me less the woman just smiled and shrugged. No explanation was offered.

Also, I think calling Bloom a "spa" is a stretch.
