Why keeping rude and antisocial staff?

Food is really good but customer service is sooooo not.

Be careful when ordering food to go. Always check your receipt.

With the previous 2 reviews... but everyone has a different experience. I actually thought the service was fine - our waitress was very nice... however, the food was a little odd. I ordered a tomato mozz salad for an app. and we got cherry tomatoes, diced mozzarella and lettuce. (not quite what I was expecting). My boyfriend ordered the steak quesadilla and got curly fries for a side. (What an interesting combo).... My salad (entree) was pretty good. Not spectacular, but not horrible either. Everything seemed fresh, but there were those cherry tomatoes again. Desserts looked lame at the front, so we passed. All in all, it was cheap eats and you can't complain there.

pretty good food, but service is lousy

I've stopped in several times and bought paninis to go, but we decided to dine in for a late breakfast during the week. The menu says "any time is a good time for breakfast" but that was certainly not the case. I understand breakfast specials that end at 11am (it was noon), but when I asked for items that were not specials, I was told that I couldn't have them. I asked for oatmeal, but it was no longer being served, so I went with eggs. Then she came out and told us that there were no home fries, so I had eggs with curly fries. The fruit cup that was supposed to be included was not and when I attempted to order a mochachino, I was told that they weren't serving them anymore for the day. Not a good decision in my opinion considering it's $4.50 and they must make a pretty penny off of that. Lastly, for a place that calls themselves "Lite Bites" the food was drenched in butter and was very greasy. It struck me more as a crappy diner than a health conscious restaurant.

Good Food-Bad Service

I have lived in Astoria for years and never once have walked into the place. Finally one day after my friends and I worked out we decided to meet there for dinner. The food was good and inexpensive. The service on the other hand was terrible. From the moment you walked into the place to the moment we walked out. The waitress was very rushy and had an attitude. The cashier was not pleasant either. Very, very rushy. Although the service sucked the food was good and I decided to take my husband there last night to give it another chance. I called at 8:30 to check on what time they close and the lady who picked up said 10 PM. We head over and get there at 9 PM. As soon as we walk in the door the lady at the cashier yells "Mami were CLOSED, CLOSED." I told her I just called and they said 10 PM and the sign says 10 also. She said "CLOSED", very rude not even in a nice manner. That just confirmed how bad and rude the staff is and unprofessional the business is. I decided to call this morning and speak to the manager. The manager barely speaks english (which is fine, understandable). I ask what are the business hours and he gave me the 10PM scenerio also. I told him that I called the night before and they told me the same thing but when we got there at 9PM they told us they were closed. He was not sure what to say but "That it depends on the weather". I grew up in the restaurants (family owned) and I never ever have heard "It depends on the weather" to see what time we close. Unless it is a huge storm or somewhat. So even though the food is good and inexpensive I highly doubt I will ever go in there again because service when your dining out plays a big roll and at this place it TRIPLE SUCKED!!! VERY BAD!!!

Can't believe that other review is from today. I just called and waited on hold for 5 minutes as well. the women did read back my order though. Pretty good food.
