Best BJJ in the city
by MattRC
I first came to Alliance in 2006 after experiencing growing dissatisfaction with another school in the city. I haven't looked back for second. In my 10 years of training I have never experienced such a close-knit and supportive training environment, coupled with absolutely world class instruction from Lucas, Babs, and Fabio. If you have a serious interest in jiu-jitsu, this is the place to be.

For anyone looking to learn the art of brazilian jiu jitsu, I can honestly say I think Alliance NYC is the place to go. Whether the goal is to be a top competitor, to get in better shape, learn self-defense or just to start an exciting new hobby, Alliance will help you get there. I personally have not only learned the techniques that have helped me win the Worlds, the Pan and many other major championships but have made some of the closest relationships in my life. I have had many ups and downs over the past few years but even when I did not deserve it my family at Alliance helped me back up from falls.
The first class is free, you have nothing to lose by giving it a try.

Without a doubt, Alliance Jiu Jitsu, here at 98 3RD Ave, New York, NY 10003 is the greatest academy you will ever step foot on. No other places that teaches jiu jitsu can even compare to this place.
We have the trio of Fabio Clemente, a Pan American Super Heavy Weight Champion, Pan American No-Gi Black Belt Senior Super HeavyWeight Champion and more. He is what you call "the Undertaker" in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, he's a silent but deadly guy.
Lucas Lepri, has won many championships,he's a 2x No-Gi World Champion, Jiu Jitsu World Champion, Jiu Jitsu Pan American Champion and many more titles, he's a force to be reckon with.
Babs Olusanmokun also won his fair share, being a Pan American Black Belt Master Light Weight Champion, NY State BJJ Federation Black Belt Superfight Champion, and etc... He is also in the acting industry.
You have these 3 phenomenal instructors in the same academy, there is nothing better than that. The schedule are made so it can accommodate with the free time of others, the instructions and techniques are amazing. I'm a wrestler who's also 2x City Champion and Greco-Roman All State, this place here will definitely push you to evolve your scrambling and take downs, It will also help improve you game in jiujitsu. If you are looking to lose some weight, this is the perfect place for you, me myself lose like 4-5 pounds after each session. If you want to learn jiu jitsu to defend yourself, come right here. There are also female classes available.
The training here are extraordinary, warming up until we are moist with sweat so we can be ready for whats ahead, drilling techniques till we get a hang of it, and sparing time that allows us to use the technique we have just learned. Its a place to learn new techniques and meet some new friends, joining Alliance Jiu Jitsu means you are part of the family. In addition the place is very sanitary, we have showers for men and women, a hand sanitizer dispenser, and the mats are vacuumed and mopped after every session.
I'm a 16 year old kid, who can open a can of whoop a$$ to people twice my age, I encourage other kids to come train to become more fit and stronger, telling girls that you come here to train will definitely get them interested. Alliance Jiu Jitsu welcome people of all ages to come train and get to meet some new friends.
Easily the BEST BJJ school in NYC!!!

I started training at alliance in May 2010. It was the best decision I have made in my life. Everybody supports each other like a family would. There are classes for beginners who want to get fit and defend themselves, and classes for advance guys who want to compete and be world champions. Lets not forget the all females class that is taught by female back belt Yuko Mizuno.
Since coming to alliance my jiu jitsu has never felt better. The instruction is hands on and the instructors are Lucas Lepri, Babs, and Fabio Clemente who are all highly respected instructors as well as champions in the sport. The price isn't expensive at all, especially for the service that is provided. Unlimited classes and more than 1 class every day.
If your looking for the best place to train you just found it :D
