Used to be good.
Been ordering from here for 6 years. Then all of a sudden, the attitudes started getting worse and worse. The last altercation was over a simple mushroom versus miso soup request. Terrible snottiness and frankly, the last few times, the cleanliness has been suspect.
If I could give a negative star now, I would.
Good Food at a Good Price. I agree. This place is pretty good and has a good price, but seems to always be crowded. Definitely go early to avoid a long wait.
Don't let the cheap prices fool you--the sushi is fresh & delish. I really like this place. It's not crowded, cheap sushi and very fresh and delicious. If you like spicy (and I mean spicy) sauce, order the spicy sauce the chicken teriyaki comes with. I love dipping the sushi and rolls into it. I like the sushi sashimi combo--made quickly and once again, very fresh and very good in taste. My boyfriend and I tend to order the same thing so can't really comment on other menu options but we've been there numerous times since moving to the area.
Great Sushi for the price before...what happened???.
I used to live a block away from this place and we went there at least once a week. Great sushi reasonablely priced. Anything we ordered is always fresh and very tasty. This place is busy even on Monday nights, always try to go early and have an early dinner or go late (but not recommended - unless you want left over sushi).
We went back on Sunday night and this place is still busy and lot's of people waiting for table. And I did noticed some of the sushi chefs are new so that might explain why the fish is still a little frozen at the middle and a little watery.
If they can look into that, this place is still on top of my list.
Delicious. My boyfriend and I were coming from a movie and decided to stop in for a few rolls (We never noticied this place before). We ordered spicy tuna, spicy salmon and spicy yellowtail. When I saw the price I didn't think the sushi would be good at all. To my surprise it was delicious and very fresh. 3 rolls were only $8.70...what a STEAL! I live only a couple blocks away and will be going there quite often.
I'm a regular. Look no further than Chikurin for fresh sushi, only $2.50/roll and $1/piece (for most) all day and every day. My favorites are the Alaskan roll and Spicy Tuna roll. The Beef Teriyaki I got once had a hard texture though. The Miso soup is pretty good. The prices are reasonable but they don't have a sushi lunch. Their answer to that was the get the sushi appetizer with a side of salad or soup. The staff is friendly. Delivery usually within 1/2 hr and I live one train station away.
