“The food was amazing although it did take a bit longer than i expected for the appetizers, but they were well worth the wait!”
A mean tagine!. Now I see why so many previous reviewers pick Zerza for birthday dinners. It a terrific place for a special celebration since it's small and quiet enough so that 8 or 10 people at the large could all talk to each other and be heard without screaming. But don't wait until you have a large group to experience this great restaurant. I ate there tonight as part of a party of two and had a fantastic meal. We shared the grilled salmon and the vegetable tagine, both of which were superb. Service and ambiance were great too. I can't wait to go back!
Amazing service, very accomodating, great boutique restaurant - and the food was awesome!. First things first - the staff at Zerza are superb! It was a windy snowy/rainy night that we got there, late of course by almost 30 minutes for our reservation, but they still had a table ready for us. But we didn't like the spot because it was right underneath the stairs, so we asked the manager if we could get a different table - he said no problem! we just ordered drinks and waited till a table upstairs got free and we were relocated. Staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was amazing although it did take a bit longer than i expected for the appetizers, but they were well worth the wait! Drinks could have used a bit more kick, but overall excellent experience. It was a bit tight to have the bellydancer though, not much space for her to move around so she practically bumped into our table a couple of times. Would definitely go back!
Not the best but decent. Was there on a Sat with 3 people for a birthday dinner, apparently this is a popular spot for birthday dinners. The food was not bad, but I've had better Moroccan, the cous cous was somewhat tasteless. Most of the diners there were there for the belly dancer. Some of the male diners got rowdy and somehow took the belly dancer for a stripper. The belly dancer was ok, but I thought she was just the opening act. She picked different guys to join her on the floor, which was funny at first but got tired fast. I had a good time but wouldn't come to this place for the best Morrocan.
Best moroccan food in NYC.
I?m from Florida, I? have been told about the food and service this place offers.
Finally I made it, it was the best restaurant experience I ever had.
The food was excellent, the wait staff was very friendly and professional, the music is great, and has a beautiful Moroccan decor.
Thank you Zerza for the wonderful time.
Editorial Review. Home-cooked Moroccan and Mediterranean dishes in the heart of the East Village.
My favorite restaurant!. This place is awesome! I have been to Zerza a few times and always had a wonderful time-the food is absolutely delicious and the staff is always friendly, helpful and professional. I recently celebrated my birthday there and it was truly memorable. The owner was so helpful in planning my party-he even had a special three course dinner menu prepared just for us! The cozy atmosphere and cool music went over really well with my friends, who now love Zerza just as much as I do. Also, be sure to try the Lebanese wine that our waitress recommended-It was fantastic!!
I love Zerza!!!. Zerza is absolutely fab. I went for a friend's birthday dinner and we had a lovely time. The ambiance of the place is great, especially the cozy second floor. The food is absolutely delicious- you must try the feta with honey. Oh my God, we couldn't get enough. The hummus plate with all different kinds of sauces was so good- and this is coming from somebody who doesn't even really like hummus. The wait staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. The malbec was great. And we ended the night with apple-flavored hookah. It was just a lovely night and the ambiance of the place really made it great. And while not dirt cheap, it's definitely affordable. This is the kind of place that people search for in NY. I will definitely be back.
Zerza treats parties well!. When planning a friend's surprise party, I was often disappointed with the service/ return calls I got from other restaurants. from The moment I called Zerza the service was fantastic. The party was a huge success with all 12 people having a great time. The food was delicious and came at perfect intervals. The service was ATTENTIVE and thoughtful. And the belly dancing added a great element of fun to the party. Thank you! I will come back here again !
Delicious food, friendly service and great atmosphere. I've been here on several occasions with both large and small groups of people and it's always been a great experience. The food is excellent and the staff is super nice. It's a great place for a cozy romantic dinner or a get together with friends.
Not Bad. I thought the food was a tad bland, but maybe because I am just used to well seasoned food. The atmosphere is somewhat romantic, although it was awfully empty for a Friday night. Service was good. Try it once!
