West Villagers embrace this big-city version of a small-town cafe for casual meals eaten in-house or taken out. Though you might find yourself cursing the placement of the bathroom behind the kitchen, the friendly staff and a comprehensive menu of reasonably priced fare more than make up for the challenge of dodging cooks on the way to the john. What happened to the fries?!?!

I have been a loyal patron of Westville for years because of their amazing turkey burger --all white meat, and served on a portuguese muffin. I have the hardest time finding a place that has an awesome burger and fries...and it seems I've lost the one restaurant that had both. I don't want to be dramatic, but I'm Irish, and there are few potatoes that I will snub. These new coated fries have lost big points with me and my circle of friends. Please bring the old fries back! We loved them!

My Go-To

I get Westville anytime I want to eat out but don't want to do an expensive shi-shi dinner. It is super cheap and DELICIOUS. Brunch, lunch or dinner, they are all good. I actually regret wanting to add to the hype because its already over crowded for being such a cute tiny hole in the wall, but I usually just order in anyway. You can't go wrong with any of the burgers or mac 'n cheese. They also have some "nicer" dishes like the salmon or swordfish that are amazing. The veggies are delicious too! Good luck deciding what to get, thats the worst part of eating there.

Pros: Delicious, Amazing music if you dine-in
Cons: trying to decide what to order is tough, it all looks great

When to Go:

It's easily one of the best bargain brunches in the West Village. French toast is just $5, baked eggs and turkey hash is $6, and all the hot dogs, burgers and salads are available, too.

The neighborhood's shady streets are perfect for an after-dinner stroll. And be sure to stop by Magnolia Bakery, another small-townish spot in the West Village, for a cute cupcake.
