"Small Town Feel" destroyed by big attitude – I called to order dinner and asked to add on fries for a dollar. The food arrived and when I called to ask why I was charged a $5.... the man...er beast ...that answered the phone told me I didn't order correctly. He then hung up me. Sadly, this individual is representing the restaurant.
The food....steak was rough and gritty I would have been better picking up food form my local diner. The fries were average.
Would I recommend this place for take away to my worst enemy? No.
awesome mac & cheese – Prob the best mac and cheese I've ever had. I did try the turkey burger but I wasn't wowed but I liked the Portuguese muffin it came on. For market sides we got: brussel sprouts (didn't care for), pesto mash potatoes (yummy), fennel parm (didn't care for), and mushrooms. I'd come back just for the mac and cheese and I'm still curious about trying all the other items on the menu, I think I just got the wrong thing.
Awesome Comfort Food – I've been to Westville four times now and I will continue to go back. Specials are always delicous...if you're craving salmon they do a great job! Fish sandwich with homemade tartar sauce is a good go-to dish as well as the turkey burger, it's incredibly moist and served on the perfect little roll. Market plates are fresh and innovative too. Great food, and awesome prices.
Comfy home cooking – amazing menu--the specials were to die for (I ordered the pork loin with pears and apples), relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, and affordable prices.
Best Cheap Eats! – Cute atmosphere, great service, and delicious food! The sides are amazing. The corn on the cob is a must!
10 out of 10 – Thank god for Westville. You can do no better in the West Village for the measly $ you're going to drop on the terrific food here. The "market sides" -- a sampler of 4 farm-fresh veg dishes for $12 -- is reason enough to come here (try the roasted fennel with parmigiana). Also the steak sandwich. But the coup de grace is the butterscotch pudding.
good value! – when i went to this place i was immediately put off by the wait (i'm very impatient and i hate waiting for a table for more than 15 min.) but oh my was it worth it! my girlfriend and i ordered much more than we should've and our meal ended up being mostly greens because we planned poorly, but the salads were also excellent. and we got so much food for the price! i highly recommend the corn on the cob. the best i've had so far. this place also serves sodas that are hard to find, like boylan's cream soda. a great place to go with a close friend or two.
Great Food, Increasing Waits – I have been a long time patron at Westville. The food is consistently very good, but the waits have grown longer. May be time for a bigger place...
Love the vegetgable sides, great burgers and dogs, and the desserts are killer!
Delightfully delicious healthy food in a perfect little restaurant – Big fan of this place. Eat there three times a week - cobb salad fanatic! I was at this restaurant the first week it opened and have watched the transformation. Really great spot. Long lines are worth the wait. The food is that good. Wait staff has been said to be abrupt, but welcome to NY. The owners are lovely. We need more places like this in Manhattan. Bring us back to the roots of home cooking.
Eat the grilled cheese! – Always a winner! Cozy, local atmosphere. Perfect for dinner with close friends or a date. The grilled cheese is the best I've had in the city and the carrot cake is delicious!
