“Great food, cordial service, elegant yet comfotable surroundings, moderate prices, plus convenient on-street parking (it's also just up the street from the Vernon/Jackson stop on the 7 train).”
“have been dining at Bella Via since they opened and their food is as delicious as when they first opened!”
“but their staff is very attentive to their customers, making sure they are well waited on.”
“The prices are reasonable and many nights I would rather take out from this restaurant than to cook.”
A great place to dine in casual comfort. Went back to NYC for a week back in June and promised myself and my wife that while we were there, we would take the time to go to a nice, reasonably priced restaurant - not just a pizzeria - to enjoy some authentic New York style pizza. A friend recommended Bella Via and she couldn't have made a better choice. It's a small, intimate restaurant located on a busy street corner with big windows, spacious table seating, a friendly casual atmosphere, good service, simple ambiance and neat decor throughout, a small bar upfront, clean restrooms and a pretty extensive menu to boot. However, we were there for the pizza and so we ordered the tomato, cheese and sausage large pie. Carmine, the owner, is an affable and attentive host and we chatted with him throughout our stay and meal. They make their pizzas in a coal fired brick oven and the end result was a delicious, thin crust pie with soft, fresh, stretchy mozzarella, fresh basil, superb Italian sausage meat and just the right amounts of tomato sauce and oregano. Not oily, not drippy, not over-crisped but not mushy or doughy either. And were all that not enough, the price for our lunch, including soft drinks, regular coffee, tax and gratuity was just a smidgeon under $30! That's tough to come by in NYC these days.
One of the best Italian restaurants in Queens. Fantastic margherita pizza. The grill octopus was great. The lamb shank was off the bone good! Tiramisu was to die for.
Best Pizza in town. Best Pizza, try the Bella Via. Mouth Watering. Also the grilled calamari is to DIE for
Nice place to eat in a still up and coming area. If you're in the Queens West area and are looking for a nice sit-down place to go to, Bella Via is a good choice. It tends to get crowded around dinner time so you might end up with a wait, but the wait is usually not too long. The service is pretty good and the pizza is great! I recommend the margherita pizza.
AWESOME BRICK OVEN PIZZA, DELICIOUS OCTOPUS SALAD, GREAT DRINKS, FRIENDLY STAFF!!!. Bella Via is by far one of my favorite restaurants. I have been dining at Bella Via since they opened and their food is as delicious as when they first opened! The food is always served fresh & pretty quick. Some times people may mistake that for being rushed... but their staff is very attentive to their customers, making sure they are well waited on. I have taken many of my friends, co-workers and family there and they all have the same reaction... "it was wonderful"... not only the entrees, but the appetizers, salads, drinks, and the ambiance!
Great food. I have been going to Bella Via since it has opened. I can't understand some of these reviews. This is one of the best restaurants in Queens and very reasonably priced. The pizza is great and the food is consistently fresh and well prepared. The service and the owners are helpful and friendly, and very attentive. It is a comfortable, relaxing neighbohood restaurant.
Avoid it!!.
Even though only one other table with two diners was occupied the wait staff rushed us during the first
drink and appetizer with the pizza order. The baked clams were warm and not tasty. The Pizza was soggy with tomato sauce dripping and we asked for it to be crispy. The owner or manager all along was on his cell phone and may be he should pay attention on his staff. even take out pizza is better!!
Awful!!! Avoid the pasta!!!. Worst 'Italian' I've had in a city that bleeds pasta sauce. I've been there twice over a two year span and the result was the same...bad. How could they call themselves Italian when both times they undercooked the pasta to the end that the pasta was stuck together and hard. Why go to a wanna-be Italian when there are two fantastic neighborhood Italian cornerstones within a few blocks. They only thing this place has in its favor is location. Have a drink and maybe a pizza but don't come here to have an meal. So much potential but so little skill.
Must try!. I have been going here for years. The food is very fresh, creative and consistant. The fresh pasta is a must, and of course the pizza is always perfect. Service is great, and the owner is usually present. I live in CT and travel to LIC for business, and ALWAYS stop there to take home a pizza! Keep up the good work, can't wait to eat there again.
The best by far.. I have dined at Bella Via regularly over the past four year. It is just as good today as it was when I first went. The food is consistently great. The pizza is the best. The service and management are always friendly. The neighborhood as certainly grown over the past few years. There are so many people moving in. I highly recommend Bella Via to all the newcombers of LIC. There are many good restaurants in LIC, but Bella Via is by far the best. Everyone must give it a try!
