Editorial Review for Butter – by Citysearch Editors

In Short
This Atlantic Avenue store displays a small, well-edited selection of women's clothes in a clean, blonde-wood space. Marc by Marc Jacobs and Martin Margiella are the established names here, with brands like Rogan jeans, C+C T-shirts, all-cotton line Kristensen Du Nord and New York retro-Victorian designer Julia also represented. There's a small selection of jewelry by local artists, too.

I have been reading about Butter Eva Gentry in alot of fashion blogs lately. I went to check out the store last week in Brooklyn. I have to say I had a great experience. The clothing selection was great, but what really blew me away was the jewelry. I found an amazing ring by a designer called Rosa Maria. I had a good time with the staff. The one guy that works in the store wears skirts!!!! I was helped by a wonderful sales girl named Jeorgea, she could not have been more patient. Great shop!!!! When your in that neighborhood check out all the great furniture shops too.

Pros: Fun sales people

Many stores carry Dries, Marni, Ann, Margiela, and Rick Owens. However, what sets Butter apart from other stores is that, you can always be sure to find sensible yet clever selection from these avant-garde designers. The owners Eva and Gentry carefully curated a collection of clothes that is special and yet, well, what I personally say "can still wear twice a week". In addition are books and candles that you can't find anywhere else. Knowledgeable staff and great service. Highly recommend.

Pros: great merchandising
