Overrated. I have to disagree with the majority of these reviews. I was not happy with the way my hair turned out, and didn't feel a lot of effort was made to meet my needs.

My favorite <3. Trish and Oscar make me feel welcome, every time. They remember every face they see, and try their best to be friends with their clients and make them feel comfortable. I am extremely grateful to have found them, and I'm also grateful for the fact that they are always willing to help friends - and quite frankly most clients become Friends from the very beginning.

BEST HAIR IN NYC. Such a wonderful experience, they truly saved my hair and I am forever grateful...It was so nice to actually have a true professionals willing to listen to my concerns. My hair is healthy and beautiful now. I had tried so many salons here in New York City, and they are by far the best...

TRUELY A HIDDEN GEM. I recently went to Salon U for the first time, and what a pleasant surprise. This hidden gem is tucked away on E 5th St in the village and the atmosphere is so relaxing and peaceful I almost forgot about my hair. I have been going for years to these uptown salons with attitude and not great quality until I stopped a woman on the street, her hair was beautiful and she sent me here. Stylists are top notch professionals and they really took the time to understand me and my concerns. My haircut is awesome!!! and my hilites are so beautiful!!! The people were so lovely and fun I sort of didn't want to leave. From the moment I walked in I knew I was in for a treat, and I cant wait to go back. Super Highly Recommended!!! Great Customer Service!!! and Sweet!!!

Poor Customer Service. They weren't very nice to me when I got my haircut. They were rude and only wanted to talk about themselves. I didn't care for the haircut.

Not a good experience. I wasn't happy with the attitude in this place!! I felt uncomfortable and made to feel like I was an inconvienence.

Wouldn't Serve Me. I was disappointed with my treatment at SalonU. The owners of SalonU wouldn't cut my hair. They said they weren't taking any more customers as this time, yet two days later my friend went in there and they started taking her as a customer. I'm not too upset since I can get a better haircut at other places, but I found it odd that they would refuse to serve me even though I am clean, have a good job, and am friendly. I woudn't recommend this place due to their attitude.

The best people in the nicest atmosphere in NYC. U salon is the opposite of the usual hair dresser: no gossips, no "making it short to make it worth the money". They are here to make you feel well in all ways: they discuss what you want and give you more, they use the best products and take personal care of you on a one by one basis. All this for very reasonable prices. They give their soul and make hair design an art and welcome any human being to share their love. I took all the people i knew to them: never 1 complain but a " when can I go back?" Their work is only a result of who they are in soul and spirit and as incredible human being.

So please let bitter people stay away from their little paradise so that they still have room for all the loving people around them.

A great place for a haircut.. On a recent visit to Salon U, I would recommend this place .The haircut was great, the experience was very enjoyable, and definitely is worth every penny. I found both stylists genuine friendly and very sincere. I felt very welcome here. I have been to other high end salons but they don't meet the needs like Salon U does and other salons (not Salon U) make you feel like they are doing you a favorite. I felt very welcome here. I would definitely recommend everyone to try Salon U.

High Praise for Salon U. I was *astonished* to come across a negative review of Salon U. Astonished is probably an understatement. Shocked. I must respond.

Salon U offers the finest hair experience in Manhattan. The stylist is a consummate professional, a genius and a gentleman. But it is more than just hair. The Salon U is a body and soul kind of place. The head message that precedes a cut or color is a treat. The specialist who delivers this relief has magic in her fingers.

I have been a client for eight years. I have only seen happy faces. The Salon U is a word of mouth kind of place, and Im surprised the business is listed here. (I suspect the negative energy deposited in the above thread is not from a client, but rather a local troglodyte who may be a little jealous of all of the positive, happy energy.
