What People Are Saying About Saragosa Mexican Deli-Grocery

Locals have been popping into this tiny bodega for cigarettes and nuts and coming out with pork tacos and tamales for years. The miniscule storefront (think a deli counter, griddle, handful of tables, and a worn-out TV blasting sports or news in Spanish) won't win any prizes for aesthetics, but the cheap, tasty treats are what keep people coming back. The selection of entrees changes daily (there's no set menu), but you'll generally find Mexican staples like soft tacos and burritos packed with ground beef or chicken.
Editor's Tips
- The Extras:
- A sidewalk chalkboard scrawled with specials is the only indication that this store is also a restaurant. Get your eats to go, and find a bench in Stuy Town, up the street.
- What to Drink:
- Hang out with the regulars, sipping beer and watching futbol. Or try one of the several kinds of Mexican sodas, with or without gas (carbonation).
- Know Before You Go:
- Zaragoza is cash only but has an ATM right outside.
