RUDE Attitude and Worse--Stay Away!

by ManhattanInsider at Citysearch

Thai-Nam is beyond rude, and I believe their food made me ill on at least one occasion.

I used to eat there frequently because it was near my job. Just the other day I called in a takeout order for pad thai with no bean sprouts. After I picked it up and opened it at work, I found it was loaded with bean sprouts. I brought it back and was nice about it. But no apology from anyone. Worse yet, when they brought back the replacement, it also had bean sprouts! I didn't check while standing there because hey--there's no way they'd get it wrong twice in a row, right? Alas, they did. So I called back. No aplogy, no explanation--nothing. They offered a refund if I wanted to take time out of my day to make a third trip to their restaurant. I ended up just picking out the bean sprouts. A one-time mistake I could uderstand, but twice in a row within 10 minutes? And no apology?

There was also a time I became nauseous after eating there. I'd eaten nothing else the whole day and had been feeling fine. So I question how sanitary their kitchen is. Be warned!

  • Cons: Got same order wrong twice and were rude about it. I became ill after eating there once.

Disgusting... really bad!! The worst pad-thai ever!!

by loreniux at Citysearch

The first time we said: ok, it is bad but we should give it another try ...since it is so close to our office. The second time was even worst. I couldn't even finish my plate. I had to get out of there...it really ruined lunch time. Please DO NOT waste your money and lunch time on this place... there are many good restaurants around.

  • Pros: Seated promptly... (?)
  • Cons: FOOD, ambiance

Not great, or even good.

by ebank at Citysearch

I'll give every place twice. Both times I've eaten lunch here I have been dissapointed. The chicken was dry and the beef was almost too chewy to eat. The place appears clean, and the service is pleasant and fast, but the food is below average. It's a shame because it is the only Thai restaurant for several blocks. The $7 lunch was tempting, but I won't be back.

  • Pros: Clean, Quick, cheap
  • Cons: bland, tasteless

Bad Pad Thai

by gibbsl at Citysearch

If you really like Pad Thai, this is NOT the place for you. It left me wanting, and I love Thai food...it was bland and didn't even have peanuts, the chicken was also dry. The ambience was nice, but all in all, I wouldn't recomment the place.
