This place is AMAZING!. I have been going here for years now and I am ALWAYS happy with this place! Great food, ambiance, service and drinks! I 100% suggest going here.
Group of friends after a play. Saw Hellman's Little Foxes at the NYTW and went to this restaurant after the play. Pangea's worked out quite nicely for us. The seven of us could talk to each other and the cocktails, service and food were just fine.
comfortable Brunch. great brunch, knowledgeable waitstaff, fine jazz pianist who didn`t interfere with conversation, Fish cooked exactly as requested...will definetely go back.
Really bad!!. Crazy host/owner treated some customers poorly while fawning over others and he seemed to be drunk, laughing, singing, running up and down the restaurant yelling and behaving a bit out of his head. Service confused and slow. Food neither here nor there. Some of it downright bad. Maybe one could have a cocktail at the big bar but frankly considering how large this restaurant is and how few people were there and the things we did sample I wouldn't trust anything about this place. A mystery why it is still open given the word is it's been around for awhile. Believe me, you can do much better in this neighborhood.
Consistantly great. Just had yet another fabulous evening at Pangea. I was introduced to this restaurant about a year ago while on a New York business trip. After no less than six five star evenings in the past six visits, it has become my favorite NY home court. The service, atmosphere and food never, I repeat, never disappoint. It is of tremendous value to me to have a restaurant like Pangea where I can focus on either the business at hand, or entertaining and know my clients or guests will have a great experience. I will be back many, many times. Definite five stars.
neighorhood favorit. This is one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants--one we keep going back to whenever we're in the area. Last night we had the duck confit & the spaghetti with clams (both specials & both very good). Always very dependable and we've never had anything we didn't like.
Cozy vibe, great drinks, wonderful food!.
Just had an amazing meal. Lovely cozy atmosphere, amazingly friendly service and great food. The goat cheese salad was light, but flavorful. The salmon tartare was suprisingly but really enjoyably executed, and the ravioli was nicely balanced and perfectly warming on a cold night.
Great cocktails also. The perfect neighborhood place for someone who cares about their food and ambiance.
Lovely restaurant, food and service. We had filet of sole and a duck and our waiter Arnoldo had had the same dishes the night before -- just by accident. We all agreed that they were sublime.
delicious food, great service!. I brought my parents to pangea because i've heard people rave about the food, and i wanted to please my parents who are foodies and usually find something wrong with the food. Pangea lived up to my expectations and then some. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and the wine. My dad ordered the braised short ribs at his suggestion, and, they were delectable. He was still talking about it the next day. The atmosphere was cozy and comfortable, perfect on a cold night.
wondeful night!!. Just went here with my family and it was just an all around great night. The atmosphere is perfect- quiet, cozy, warm, and east village chic. The staff was very friendly, and both the food and wine were delcious. We were a family of 4, very picky eaters, and everyone loved their dish! Desserts were great too. definitely will be going back.
