“find it more fun if you go without a big group, but that's just me!”
“Phenomenal show with tasty desserts to boot!”
“The bar is sleek and the cocktail is good.”
“These desserts are truly fresh and innavative, but not in an inventive way.”
“The wine pairing is perfect and the changing menu keeps it fresh.”
“Nice portions, great staff, get there early!”
“This is the smallest dessert and the most expensive dessert have I ever had.”
“we started with the bread pudding and vanilla sorbet amuse, both had such unbelievable flavors, then we shared the amazing Cheese cake, the Pineapple Gazpacho, and the Chocolate tart with Pink Peppercorn ice cream, which was hands down the best Chocolate ”

Such a cutesy dessert bar in the East Village. They don't specialize in one particular thing but they churn out great banana pudding and shaved ice.
Like Heaven on Earth. I've driven pass this place on several occasions as I use to reside in the neighborhood. For some reason I always thought it was a sushi restaurant. I might have though this because of the nondescript glass plating which?s conceals a very white interior. I could also make out what appeared to be a sushi bar. I was wrong. After reading a posting on BOC I decided to check it out. I was left in utter euphoria. This was a dining experience. The deserts were spectacular. The different textures and flavors melted in my mouth. I wasn't very daring... I just tried the cheese cake (which was no ordinary cheese cake, it was as smooth as butter). Yes, the wait was long and well worth it. The seating area is very small. The host is gracious and beyond polite. And to the individual who posted s/he felt the service was rushed because s/he was not allowed to order a second cup of coffee. Heaven is meant to be shared... If you wanted to lounge check out Dunkin Doughnuts or Starbucks
Nothing short of spectacular - 1st timers: Sit at the bar.
I've been going to ChikaLicious for a couple of years now and can never get enough!
The attention to detail and quality of the food and service should serve as a standard for ALL restaurants in New York.
Yes, the sizes are small, comparing to the hunk of cheesecakes and other so-called fine pastries served at your typical chains. The idea here, which some people don't get, is to have an outstanding dessert experience, not make a meal out of it.
The fromage blanc is their version of cheesecake, which is always on the menu with the chocolate tart, the rest changes every few days.
For first times, I recommend sitting at the bar and notice how every move is made with total care towards perfection.
For those who think the sizes are way too small, order two! Sometimes that what I do.
Sweet Little Dessert Bar. My fiance and I had been trying to experience Chikalicious for over a year but the long line and wait was always a deterrant. We finally waited it out and had a lovely little experience. The staff is friendly and the desserts are really great. That said, I will be honest; it's very expensive for what it isand this is not American (or even French) sized portions by any means. You'll get a taste and it will be a great and expensive one. If you are OK with that, you'll have a great experience. The wine pairing is perfect and the changing menu keeps it fresh. Don't bother with the special...just get the dessert and definitely do the pairing. Go early (before 7:30) to avoid the wait (or on a week night!)
Going Strong!!!. I have been coming to this place for 3yrs now, and it never gets old!!!! It is a very tiny place so either come early or be willing to wait the line outside (worth it!!), best if you dont come with a large group....Try scoring a seat at the bar, this will give you the chance to see these masterminds at their best while preparing ur dessert!!! If you have not tried this place, go now!!!
Worth a visit. The dessert is uniquely delicious! I had the warm melted chocolate cake which was amazingly good. My best friend had the fromage blanc cheesecake which i recommend bc it's the best I've had in my life. The red wine pairing goes well with the tasteful desserts. The staff was warm, knowledgeable and friendly. Definetly worth a visit if you're in the area.
Decadence.
It is a small white room , very simple with rather limited seating.
The 3 course deserts are small portions but tasty.
It's expensive but your paying for the unique experience.
A good place to take out of town guests with a flair for the the fancy.
great service did not make up for their desserts. first off, the place was tiny and i was cramped up to a corner. the desserts weren't as great as i hoped for. i can't be in a place where the waiter describes their portions as bites--"the marshmallow puff is about 2 bites and the ice cream is 3 bites".....ive tried the hype and i'm movin on. afterwards, i was craving for veneiros or a nice big cupcake--anything with more than 10 bites..!. our waiter and the pastry chef were really nice tho. Also, I thought the entire place was too bare...nothing special.
Adorable idea, So-so execution. Surprisingly crowded on a Sunday night, waited about 25 minutes for three person table. The tiny interior is bright and elegant, but very small. The staff is very cheerful and present every dish with a smile. The desserts themselves aren't that exciting. There were six on the menu and more than half followed this formula: pseudo-innovative ice cream with some kind of cake/tart. The desserts could stand to be more delicious and pizzazzy but the $12 price tag makes it a reasonable one-time adventure.
Simple dessert place.... Friendly service, okay desserts. Portions are small and it's wonderful if you're weight conscious. I found the peppercorn icecream to be pleasantly good and quite unique. The wait is always long, and the place is extremely tiny. I would recommend going during the day. They don't take reservations.
Great service, tasty!!!. It was small, but in a relaxing setting. It was very personal, as greetings from the waiters, and personal farewells. The portions were very small, but the desserts taste wonderful. Not too pricy, nice to go after a play or a walk in the city.
