The Emperor has no Clothes!

Since moving to New York, I?ve been on the hunt for a great eyebrow specialist. Here's my take on Eliza's Eyes:
Once upon a time, I had thick and long eyebrows with a lovely natural arch similar to those of model, Anchel Joseph. Then I visited Achilina of Eliza?s Eyes, founded by the so-called ?Guru of Eyebrows? Eliza Petrescu. I was so excited about my appointment given all of the beautiful women I?ve read about going there, but I walked out quite disappointed with the result. I don't believe in the one size fits all, cookie cutter approach utilized by the team at Eliza's eyes, and you better believe ?cookie cutter? is exactly what you?ll get. My brows were shortened at the ends and my arch was completely flattened. It seemed the one and only goal of Eliza?s eyes is to make the left and right brows match perfectly with each other, but little to no consideration is given to providing them a shape for the customer that flatters his or her unique facial features. What?s worse, they missed their goal of creating symmetry with my brows altogether as the inner corner of my left eyebrow was raised significantly hire than my right!
Pay close attention to the endless amount of bad reviews this place is receiving, and note that they significantly outnumber the good. This place is all hype. Don't be fooled by the clientele or the price. Lesson learned: tempting as it is never to question the judgment of celebrities, always rely on your own common sense and trust your instincts. Quality is what counts.
Anyway, I?ve been reading a lot of wonderful things about a Ms. Elke Von Freudenberg, and I?ll be paying her a visit tomorrow.... Stay tuned!
- Pros: Very Quick, you're in and out
- Cons: Very Quick, you're in and out....because the stylists spends no time considering what will look best on you.
Acupuncture/Core Flow/Lash Tint
by allure77
I visited the big city for Christmas vacation and had a wonderful experience for acupuncture! I even treated myself to a core flow class which was a nice change from doing pilates. The staff recommended lash tinting after I complained of having thin red lashes. I went for it and it made such huge difference! The only mistake that I made on my part was adding an appointment for brow arching. After my acupuncture appointment I waited in the lobby to be picked up. If you've had acupuncture done you would know that you are as relaxed as if you've had massage. Lo' and behold my buzz was wiped quick-like by a short woman with a bad temper (mumbling obscenities about tips!). I felt the tension in the room build and wondered if I had walked into another business after acupuncture! The woman then yelled at me to "come on!" and follow her. It was Eliza the brow lady! She rushed quickly and became upset because I asked her how she was doing. To top it off she demanded I stop talking and said I had butchered eyebrows. All in all she did a so-so job, I may have got a better deal and shape in Australia.
I wish I had enough time for a facial, maybe next time.
- Pros: Acupuncture/Core Flow
- Cons: Brow arching
Eliza's Eyes!!!
by ExecMom212
I had 1st read about Eliza many years ago in Allure magazine. After many attempts to see her, between mine & her busy schedule, I finally made it! She was fantastic. She lived up to everything they applaud her for in all these magazines. She took my two little helpless eyebrows & made them movie star mega brows! :) As crazy as it may sound, I feel like I got a little confidence boost with that 10 minuet appointment! On another note, I must say that I agree with some of the comments about the shabbiness of the spa Eliza operates out of. The place is a disaster & I was very surprised to see such a well known name, such as Eliza to be affilated with such a mess of a spa. I personally would not go there for anything other than Eliza or Eliza's Eyes services.
- Pros: Eliza's Eyes
- Cons: Exhale Spa
