Editorial Review for 1849 – by Lisa Marie Rovito
In Short
In stride with its sister bar Gold Rush in Hell's Kitchen, 1849 boasts a rugged, Wild West theme. The owners chose a touristy strip of Greenwich Village for their second ode to the American frontier, but kept the spit-shine charm. Inside, Bleecker Street shufflers and NYU students gorge on hearty chow like baby back ribs and barbecue chicken. Upstairs find pool and video games; downstairs, sports on a dozen plasma-screen TVs.

first off it was my girlfriends friends bday everyone got in but me and my friend. yeah i admit hes said something funny like I'm not good enough for the v.i.p. so what happens a little bouncer midget comes out and denies my friend entrance he checks my id and i try and go in then he tells me i cant go in because I'm friends with the guy he didn't let in. congrats mini me if your reading this go dye your stinking side burns and grow a couple more inches. at least i got to get some sleep. all in all this place is horrible and your better off going down the block to peculiar pub nicer people bigger selection of beer good night
Pros: none
Cons: horrible bouncers

I HAVE BEEN LIVING IN THE CITY FOR 2 YEARS AND I HAVE NEVER SEEN A HOTTER BARTENDER! IT WAS A RANDOM TUESDAY NIGHT AND I WALKED IN TO SEE A ANGEL. WHAT A GREAT SMILE AND FANTASTIC SERVICE. MADE IT WORTH GOING ON THE LOCO TUESDAY NIGHT
