The Scene
A stream of patrons flows in and out of this shop favorite into the night. Floor-to-ceiling wood cases hold the (glass, not plastic) apothecary-style jars of product; rows of handmade soap slabs stacked on and above the register add bursts of color and texture.
The Goods
Based in Israel and internationally adored, Sabon uses 100-percent natural ingredients from the Dead Sea and neighboring countryside. The result is incredible, unisex products that nourish both body and soul, and truly must be experienced to be believed. (Luckily, there are two sinks in the back so you can do just that.) Soaps are made from olive oil, glycerin or loofah bases, and might include real rose petals or bamboo; naturally scented body lotions, shower oils and bath foams come in choices like Lavender-Apple and Melon-Orange. Don't miss the amazing body scrubs, which gently heal even the scaliest skin, and the full range of face-care.

The waterfall in the window caught my eye, so I stepped into Sabon...and was immediately "hooked." Their bath and body products from Israel look and smell great...fizzy bath balls, body scrubs and shower oils in crystal clear glass bottles with simple labels and 100% natural ingredients. The Lavender-Patchouli-Vanilla spray-on body oil makes my skin feel like silk (and is a real "man magnet"--guys LOVE this scent!!) One day when I was there...Susan Sarandon walked in...la la la...and last week "Sex & The City" taped an episode outside the store...and Kristen Davis bought a whole bunch of lavender products.
