Butchered my eyebrows – Don't do here, they ruined my eyebrows. It take forever to grow them back. I guess you get what you pay for.
I went in there for a clean up and she ruined the shape of the brow. Don't go there!
the ower is a gay .. – stupid moron keeps loosing good workers. There were the best people i eva met. i wont recommend his salon anymore.. i curse him that he should run out of his business....
hey lawrence monterio f u c c c k you a s s h o l e!
So fast, so cheap, SO GOOD! – Okay - first thing's first - if you have "problem" brows or have issues getting the right shape, this is NOT the place for you. This place is for people who like their shape, don't have issues with pain, and just need a clean up on the shape they already have every few weeks. I got my eyebrows done at one of those fancy places that are written up in all the magazines and it was no better than this. I got the exact same result. Why not go to Perfect Shape, where it costs me $7 and 5 minutes?? Just be realistic about the kind of brows you have before you come here, it may be cheap and convenient, and all your friends might be telling you how great threading is, but if you need a new shape or are growing in sparse brows, they don't have the time here to do it "right" for you. This is an in-and-out type place where you sit down and they just GO - this isn't an "okay let's discuss your needs and I'll take 25 minutes just doing your eyebrows" place. Also, I think neither waxing nor threading hurt, but I've had people cry to me after I tell them to go here, telling me that the threading is worse than childbirth - it's all a matter of personal pain threshold.
Nira is a goddess for eyebrows – I've been going to Perfect Shape for a year at least. During that time, I think I've had every woman in the salon thread my eyebrows and I've had good and...not so pleasant experiences but NIRA is an absolute godsend.
Because of incessant plucking, my eyebrows were much too thin and didn't suit the shape of my face at all. Nira is beyond meticulous, always asks me what I want and is very very *very* careful.
I've had strangers stop me on the street and ask me where I get my eyebrows done and I always send them to Nira. Go to her, you will not be sorry!!
You get what you pay for – Perfect Shape is great if you're looking to have some cheap threading done. But, if you want your eyebrows done really well, go somewhere else. Understandably the employees here are just looking to get as many people in and out of their chair as possible, and there's no incentive to make your brows look good. Some of the women are better than others - I've been a couple times and had experiences from very good to awful. One woman took scissors to my eyebrows and hacked a lot of them off before I even knew what she was going to do! No one will ask what you're looking for, so be specific before they start working on your face.
Fantastic Threading Experience – If you are a wax person, try the threading, its a gaurantee that it will hurt less and look better. And there is no one in the city that can do it better than these ladies.
great service for close to nothing – I go here ever couple of weeks, and I love it. The staff is nice and professional and they will do whatever they can to make sure your happy. If you get more than two services, they usually stamp your card twice (every 10th stamp is a free eyebrow).
I go to Perfect Shapes only to see Mintu! – Due to "word of mouth" I've been going to the Perfect Shapes on 39th and 6th and have had great luck with them. I went to Mintu per a recommendation from my friend, and she is amazing with my eyebrows. I've tried many many threading salons in Manhattan and they have always made my eyebrows too thin, too short, or just plain uneven. I've been to threading salons for $6 to high-end threading that cost $20. I have to say, the ONLY threader I'm ever going to see from now on is Mintu. She is always very friendly, gives me a perfect arch and doesn't miss a hair. The staff at the salon itself may be unfriendly and rude at times, but I don't really care, as long as she works there.
NEVER AGAIN! – I went here out of desperation because my schedule was too tight to go to my usual place uptown. I went during my lunch break and it was a big mistake. Where in the hell did they get the name Perfect Shape? There was nothing perfect about it. The staff is rude, don't listen to you, and rush through the job. Worst of all, I left with ugly eyebrows and CUTS! Who knew string could be so sharp. My coworkers thought something happened to me on the streets!
I will be sticking to my usual place, which ironically also charges $6 but is WAAAAAY better than this joint.
You Get What You Pay For – I went for eyebrows and okay, for 6 bucks, it's not bad but this place is so unorganized. There are no appointments. You just walk in, sit down, and then walk up to an empty chair when you THINK it's your turn. There is no one coordinating anything. The atmosphere is not relaxing at all. The woman who did my brows did not even say hello, did not ask me what shape I wanted. When I told her anyway, she didn't seem to care at all and just did her own thing which lasted only less than five minutes. They came out just okay, not good enough for me to go back, even if it's only 6 bucks. This place is like an assembly line. The service definitely needs to improve.
