Bennett is the man!. I met Bennett when he was still a student at Arrojo. He was great then and is even better now since he has graduated. He listens to what you want and offers wonderful suggestions. He is very meticulous when working out layers which I love. He also gives the best shampoo/ hair massage ever! Bennett is the best!

I LOVE LOURDES. I heard about Lourdes at my job...I read some of her reviews online and decided to Book with her. She is the best colorist I've ever ever experienced..extremely warm, personable and a kick ass colorist. I tend to be a little anal about EVERYTHING...and she somehow convinced me to jump with her on this color experience. I really really LOVE my hair. I feel younger, hipper and a lot sexier. We did the ombre effect. Very natural fading effect on the hair. I enjoyed Arrojo very much...also the prosciuto paninni at the cafe is to die for. I'll definitely be coming back to Arrojo and to my favorite colorist Lourdes

NICOLE IS THE BESTTTTTTTT!!. I decided to look into Arrojo Studios after seeing him on What Not To Wear and checked out a few of the stylist on his page. I chose Nicole after reading some reviews and saw that she was on Sheer Genius. I have to say I LOVE NICOLE!! She is really nice, friendly, and just REAL...which I have to say some here are NOT!! I decided to check her out after years of going to someone who would cut my hair in layers and it pretty much looked the same with no volume. Nicole asked what I wanted and I said, make me look like a VS Model!! And that's what she did!! She took her time to cut my hair piece by piece and made sure the layers were cut correctly. My hair looked beautiful. I am now a regular and have referred many of my friends to her. They also LOVED the results. I have nothing bad to say, my experience was GREAT!!

Salon is a SCAM!. I created an account to write a review for this salon because of the atrocious experience that I had here. If I could give a negative rating I would!

I went to this salon on May 27th 2011 as a hair model. I answered an ad for a FREE haircut. I corresponded with the student in several emails. At the 11th hour I was switched to her "friend." Once I got to the salon I was told there would be a fee of $25. I disputed the fee of course. The front desk girl said verbatim "we will take care of it." I took that language to mean that its taken care of.

I got the haircut. It was disgusting. It was lopsided. She did a false consultation. She asked me what I wanted but did what she wanted anyways. She didn't ask me any questions about where I part my hair, how I do my hair, my lifestyle etc. Why bother doing a consultation if you're not going to listen? It did not turn out good or even passable. The instructors even said how bad it was and how poor her consultation skills were.

At the end I was then forced to pay the fee otherwise it would be theft and I would've probably been arrested. I was also bullied into a product purchase. I had to refuse about 7 times. Seriously people? Obviously I don't want it!

I have filed a complaint with the BBB because it is false advertising. I am not a hard to please person. I just think if you advertise something the client should get it as advertised. The responses from the salon and the students involved are ridiculous and out right lies. I was appalled that people can outright lie! It only cements my opinion that the salon has faulty practices that result in negative consequences for the consumer. I am surprised that there aren't more complaints on file.

You think this will be a high end salon treatment but you're better off going somewhere else and saving your money. You will not get high end treatment or high end results.

Rea is the best!. I was referred to Rea by a waitress while having brunch in the west village. She mentioned that Rea cuts her curly hair and she always gets a lot of compliments. I was a little nervous about having someone new cut my long, super thick curly hair! After explaining to Rea what type of cut i'd like she got to work. The results were F*****G AMAZING! I've gotten tons of compliments & my hair looks great straight or curly!!! I highly recommend Rea she's sweet, fun personality, knows what she's doing and works magic with her hands! I'm definitely going back to Rea and will refer her to all of my friends!

Amy and David - Dynamic Duo. I have been going to Arrojo for years! First, I have very challenging hair - lots of grays, brown color that pulls red, course and wavy texture. Amy has been doing my color and making me a "natural" blonde for years. I'm tell you, I get compliments on my hair all the time. She tweaks the color and process to give me the most cost effective and time efficient service each and every time. I go every four weeks and she always treats me with complete professionalism as if Im a new client each time. I would recommend anyone to see her that wants to be a blonde. She's relatable, fun, quirky and professional. David does my cut and is so smart, easy to talk to, also incredibly professional. Im so impatient with my hair and hate to wait for it to grow. David gave me a cut to help my hair grow and encouraged me to stick it out when I was frustruated and now I have long hair that looks great. I recommend Arrojo to everyone I know - its fast, they run on schedule, its well-priced and extremely professional.

Ready for the Runway. I've been going to Chris and Amy at Arrojo for almost 5 years, now (!), so this review is long overdue. Spurred on by the salon owner Nick Arrojo and his "What Not To Wear" fame, my mom first visited the salon and convinced me to become a convert as well.

I have long, wavy-curly hair that is fairly easy to cut and style, but it frizzes and flips out and I wasn't thrilled with my mousy-brown natural shade. After spending the day with Chris and Amy, I always emerge looking like nothing short of a supermodel, with shiny, silky tresses that inspire awe from friends and strangers!!

At first, I was nervous about getting a razor cut, but don't be! Chris' hairstyles frame your face in those perfect wispy layers, grow out beautifully, and last for months. Also trepidatious about committing to the vicious circle of highlights and roots, I had nothing to fear! Amy's color looks SO natural that the highlights even grow out without visible roots and I only need to go back a few times a year!!

The environment is hip and cool with plenty of natural light, great music, and a phenomenal cafe that brings the food to your chair! The assistants are also charming and eager to please, and their product line is actually worth purchasing, especially the serum, deep conditioner, and styling foam!

Is it a bit on the expensive side? Yes (but for New York City, it's a wild bargain!). Is it worth every penny? Absolutely. All in all, a day of pampering that restores your faith in the fact that if your hair looks great, you look even better...

LAX->NYC. Worth it for these 2!. I also see Amy and Cheryl!!! They are the perfect team - agreed.

I have been going to Amy and Cheryl for four years now and I will never trust anyone else with my cut and color.

After bouncing around from salon to salon for years I found Cheryl through a friend (a friend who has awesome hair). She is wonderful and gives an awesome cut that frames my face shape perfectly. She has also gone above and beyond by teaching me new and fun ways to style my hair. I have finally perfected the beach wave look all by myself and considering I’m an actress, being able to rock salon hair to auditions is pretty gosh darn important.

And then by asking around at the salon I found Amy. And oh my goodness I am so lucky! Amy knows what she is doing, she is confident in her craft, and she is a lovely and wonderful person to boot. When I first went to Amy I thought I wanted one thing and thank goodness she kindly explained that going another direction with my color could ultimately serve me better – I decided to trust and boy was she right!!!! I love what she does season to season, the slight modifications, attention to detail, and personal touch.

I recently moved to Los Angeles and fully plan to travel to NYC to get my hair done. Amy and Cheryl are that good.

Jessica-Better Curly cut than Devachan. Jessica gave me her card when she saw me at a cafe in our neighborhood, so I scheduled an appointment not really knowing what I was getting into. I have been going to her for over a year now and have been happy with my hair every time (although, once I thought I would try something different and didn't like the outcome--but the cut was EXACTLY correct and looked just like the one in the Arrojo magazine, which I applaud her for).

I have very fine, curly hair. I wear it with bangs and really short layers for a fun and funky look. Jessica has great style and knows how to give me the exact cut I want. I've tried Devachan and do not think the prices are worth it--especially when I can go to Arrojo, which has such a clean and inviting atmosphere. It is honestly such a relaxing experience to get your hair done there and I love all of the products.

See Jessica, you really won't be disappointed.
