You may be a butter hog or you may be a butter snob. One thing to note is that the flavor of butter is mighty distinct in the dishes. You can go on butter patrol or you can add some butter to your fat roll. I chose the latter. The food was scrumptious and indulgent. I dined here in a party of 10 and the experience was superb! The service was excellent. This is a great place to celebrate milestones, such as your husband's parole; the day you dumped your cheating ex; Athiest Day; or even your birthday. I will certainly dine here again.

Swagat is one of my favorite places for Indian food. The food is so fresh and delicious, and the people who work there are friendly and welcoming. I feel like I'm being welcomed into someone's home. I have only had the vegetarian food there and the dal (and all the specialties) is really, really good - but my date got some Tandoori mix the other day and it smelled unbelievable. He loved it - so meat eaters should try it. The staff always has great recommendations. Sometimes it's good to ask for extra spice because they tend to play it safe. I have been to many of the Indian restaurants in the city - down on 6th street and up in Curry Hill, but I still place Swagat up at the top of my list. Oh, and they have a special on weekends or lunch - some 13.95 for a full meal with all the extras that add up, like naan and raita and such...check it out.

Pros: fresh, genuine food, friendly service, good prices

Cons: not always spicy enough, ask for extra
