“food is just as good as French Laundry, but the decor lacks the intimacy at TFL.”
“The food is good to very good 3 examples:Amuse bouche of an ice cream cone topped with a salmon mousse & creme fraiche inside, pearl tapioca with oysters & topped with caviar, an egg shell that contained a black truffle like gravy & a custard on the botto”
“The tasting menu was delivered at a break-neck pace, leaving no time to enjoy the wine or even digest the food.”
“We've been testing a lot of New York places and per se is hands down the best food, service and atmosphere, and price all in one.”
“Get the big tasting menu and wine pairings for a great experience.”
“was so happy I found a great place to spend my work's money at!”
“The service is amazing.”
“price/value. Don't get me wrong, this place is definitely good, and if money is of no concern.”
“My favorite was the black truffled egg served in the shell, the most amazing texture and mesmerizing flavor, if I think back long enough I can still taste it!”
Go for the Experience.
This place is amazing. The wait staff treats you as if you and your party are the only table in the restaurant. There are so many choices to choose from, its a bit overwhelming but don't be afraid to ask to your server to explain anything - they answer every question!
Just something to note: The price is now $295 a person, with service included. Drinks and tax are not included.
I would recommened making an early reservation because the meal usually takes about 3 - 4 hours.
Great Food & Service. Nice restaurant with excellent service! Gorgeous food! Worth the value and highly recommended! Kindly reminder that reservation should make exactly one month in advance @ 10am NYC time!
The BEST in THE WEST. Amazing service, dishes, servers are so nice so knowledgable they make it fun! beautfiul view, stunning decor, I think it might just be NY s best rest. Its devine. Go there. Go there with someone important and or who you love. It a sure experiece!!!
Amazing Experience.
My Uncle took me here as a nice celebrate for graduating form CUliary School. The day started out with a personalized menu, and the host knowing exactly why we were there.
The menu and food were beyond words, so I'll leave it at AMAZING. I didn't want the meal to end. Each couse was a surprise on a plate and made me happy. Simply amazing.
After, they provided me with a tour of the kitchen, since I could apprecaite the line and the back workings. Such a great day, really nice staff.
An unhappy and unfurtunate event. I`m Brazilian was in New York last April. On 28th . I went to Per Se for dinner with my sister, my mom and some friends and we had a wonderful time. Unfortunately I forgot my wallet with all my documents and $ 800 on the table. I realized that on the other day in the morning and I called the restaurant straight away and I was told my wallet was there. When I came back to pick it up, I could see that all the money had disappeared. I didn´t even have time to complain as the door were closed behind me and nobody answered my calls. I could only contact the manager at the end of the afternoon when he apologized and said he couldn´t do anything, just offered me a free dinner. I felt miserable and shocked, I understand I was in a big city, which can be dangerous and violent, however I know I had left my wallet there and the money was stolen there. What made me even more frustrated are the way I was treated and the quality of the place, also known as an expensive restaurant. The whole bill was $ 2.150.
One of those restaurants you have to try.
Managed to get a reservation at Per Se 1 month in advance. I was quite surprise as The French Laundry requires at least a 2 month lead time. I'm wondering if this is just because of the poor economy.
The food was great but I had expected a bit more from a 3 Michelin restaurant. Maybe its because they change their menu everyday (?).
Whilst beautiful, I found the location a bit strange being in the Time Warner building. I would have thought Thomas Keller would choose a quaint neighborhood Uptown.
Excellent. The service was excellent, with each dish served, the wait staff was friendly and accomodating. The food was great. At the end of the tasting menu, they displayed what must have been a box of beautiful homade chocolates and they were able to name the filling of each one. They provided a goodie bag to take home and even offered to out in a good word at their sister restaurant in Napa Valley, Laundry, should you want to try that location. The place was clean, I didnt sit there for hours waiting for each course. The food was delicate, tasty and what I would call woth effort. The dishes were prepared with the techinal standard you would expect from a high end restaurant.
