Absolutely Wonderful!!. Every time I go here it is like a great relaxing vacation right in the middle of busy Manhattan. Wow excellent renovation. I have been going here for years. They have redone the place and it has really spruced it up. Completely more clean and comfortable. The staff is always nice and friendly. A great place.

Very sad and disappointed. I'm very sad to write this, as I've been going to Sunlight Bodywork - now called Ocean Bodywork - on and off for years and was very glad to have somewhere to go for a good, basic massage in the neighborhood. I recently gave my husband a reflexology gift certificate as a present. When he presented it at the front desk after his appointment, they tried to insist that we pay $10 extra, since his masseuse had "forgotten" how long his appointment was supposed to last. They argued that their "boss" (i'm pretty sure the other woman present was the manager) would make the masseuse pay out of her own pocket for the extra 15 minutes that she "accidentally" spent. When we explained that a client would and should never be expected to pay for a scheduling mistake, they still argued. I can understand honest mistakes, but we STRONGLY FELT that they were lying, and were trying to take advantage of the relaxed mindset that a person would naturally be in at such a time. I'm very, very sad and disappointed about this. Every time I had gone before, they ALWAYS ASKED, towards the end of the massage, if I wanted to extend the session by 15 minutes or longer. They're likely under new management now, as this sort of thing had never happened before. Time to find a new place.

My pain is magically gone!. I've had nagging shoulder pain for the last three months but after my massage the pain went away instantly. I feel like a new person. My therapist, Jimmy, was fantastic. I will definitely go back soon and recommend this place to everyone I know!

Absolutely fantastic massage!. I am from out of town and my friend recommended Sunlight to me after seeing I had just injured my back in a car accident. The massage was absolutely amazing! My therapist knew exactly where I had pain and even found some knots I didn't even know existed. Too bad I live so far or I would get a massage every day.

A natural, safe, and relaxing way to relieve your pain.. I have carpal tunnel syndrome with pain that extends all the way to my neck, shoulders and back. Preferring not to have surgery, I have found that a good one hour massage provides great pain relief. I always feel so much better after a session that I can forget my pain and focus on more important things. I have been searching the city for the best massage and I am pleased to have found Sunlight. I've had bad massages and paid far too much for them at other places. Other places are also inconsistent. You can get a good massage with one therapist and a horrible one from someone else. The staff is friendly, professional, and reliable. Anyone wanting a good, reasonably priced massage and much pain relief should try this place out. I highly recommend it.

Not For Women. I gave it a try just for their rate. Not very good right off, office looks shabby, too many men in the shadows (customers). I didn't feel comfortable. The look and feel of this place is for men only. This is not a woman friendly establishment. Will not recommend this location at all.

Great bargain, but...... Annie was the only reason to get a massage here and she has apparently left the practice. Although i find Sunlight pleasant, the caliber of the other clinicians does NOT warrant another visit. For an extra $10 you can go to a competent spa and get an amazing table shower prior to your massage which tends to trump Sunlight's offerings.

Don't waste your money - massage is fake - the customer service person is rude. This place is way too busy to have a relaxing massage. This is not even worth $50 when you consider there are better places for a lot less. Don't waste your money on this obnoxiously run place. Most of the people there don't seem to know much about massage.

Ok. I went there. It was ok. Inexpensive and not bad for an hour. The place was neat but sort of no frills. It wasn't enirely quiet but for $50 you can't have everything. However, the massage was a little harsh for me (though, I didn't speak up and ask for a gentler one). All in all it was ok for the price and length. However, these other reviews all sound suspiciously similar.
